A creative episode. Enjoyed the idea of the 2D bad guys and they made it work well.

Why
I've immediately set my expectations for next week's episode to 0.

On the other hand, this weeks was a lovely standalone monster romp.
Kinda creepy, a sprinkling of humour, maybe a cheesy way to 'beat' them, but that's just nitpicking.
Did anyone clearly hear what he called the monsters tho? That is what he shouted isn't it?

I've given up waiting for this series to become good. It's never going to happen.

At least, until Moffat gets fired, which isn't going to happen.

Next week's does look very child focused. I'm going to guess its to coincide with half term starting and to lighten up what have been a run of scarier episodes since the Robin Hood ep. I think the standard has really picked up this series, so even if next week is awful, 2 child focussed eps out of the whole season isn't too bad. Not ideal but as we always say it is a family show!

I've generally really enjoyed this series, it's got me back into watching Dr Who. Hadn't watched it for years, tried getting into it but it just didn't do it for me. Really loving Capaldi as the Doctor (it's between him and Tom Baker for me). So far there has only been one episode I've not enjoyed as much but even then it was fine just not as good as the others.

You should try watching Blink, Imposible Planet, the Library, Girl In The Fireplace... I'm almost envious that you have yet to experience those episodes.

Blink gets a lot of love (With good reason) but Midnight is a personal fave of mine.

You should try watching Blink, Imposible Planet, the Library, Madame De Pompadour... I'm almost envious that you have yet to experience those episodes.

Blink is my favourite episode of all the new ones, closely followed by The Girl in the Fireplace (the Madame de Pompadour one).

Is that the 1940's one with gas masked children? God that one is overrated, the "are you my mummy?" line just kills any creepiness it may otherwise had.

Really good episode, but one criticism of Capaldi, he cannot threaten

Tennant and Smith were excellent at this, i especially remember the Pandorica episode when Smith was shouting at the stars not to cross him, even though it was an empty threat, "I am the DOCTOR!" - goosebumps!!!

But the part in the final part in the tunnel, Capaldi just came across as a shouty old man Had the potential to be a classic moment.

god this is an awful episode, typical Matt Smith tripe this week
