Doctor Who

So presumably the Teletubby Daleks have been scrapped totally? They seemed to be used in a Commander type role in some older episodes but they've not been seen in a good while now. Hardly surprising with the reception they got.

I want the Dr who back where all it was was 12 episodes set in the grounds of Belvoir castle with a load of extras dressed up in 1960s army fatigues chasing more extras dressed up as giant mackerel.

Why don't they just cast Timmy Mallet as Dr Who if all they are going to do run around the set for 50 mins. The whole "Missy" persona is that of someone who's slipped their carer for an hour, even "eye candy" Clara is wearing thin on me now. I really did hope that when they cast Peter Capaldi in the role it would steady down and be slightly darker and more adult. Instead all the characters are so ott and pantomime it's like watching Celebrity Big brother. Pretty disappointed by the first two episodes.

One of those episodes where everything good was cancelled out by everything bad or the other way about depending on how you want to look at it.

IMO the point of a two parter is that it gives time for the Doctor time to earn a victory as it is not constraint by the time limits of a normal episode I hate how cheap the victory felt.

Strikes me as it can't quite work out what it want's to be. Some quite clever and intriguing plot lines ( some contrived and absurd) but more often than not delivered in some sort of Xmas pantomime style. Maybe I'm just too old to watch it and can't view it through a child's eyes anymore. It should be great, more money, better actors, better sets, etc. For my money "The Empty child" & "Bad Wolf" episodes had about the right balance.

Haha - I remember those days with a fondness too. I'd just add in the odd quarry scene with some smoke cannisters for effect and the job's a goodun I'd say.

Utterly terrible first two episodes to this season as far as I'm concerned. A total mishmash of ideas. The retconning is beyond a joke in this when it comes to Daleks.

One minute, they are unstoppable enemies with no weakness and the next they get pwned on their own planet easily by next to nothing other than some prancing around in a sewer.

Cannot stand Missy. Totally horrific, annoying character. Cannot stand Capaldi's Doctor either sadly. He just runs around cracking jokes. No science or intelligence about his antics. It is utter drivel. JC is eye candy but you can tell she's not keen on being in this now too.

Couldn't get over the horrible plane scene in the first episode. It was an embarrassment. The stock jet engine sound effect used when Missy sent one over their heads via her contraption was worse than the production standards of your average YouTuber.

I so want this show to be good but it is truly dire. Think I'm close to giving up now.

I struggle to understand Capaldi's dialogue :(

Aside from that i enjoyed the story except for............sonic screwdriver sunglasses and the ridiculous sound effect that came with them?? WTF were the writers smoking when they came up with that gem?!

Not sure what to make of Doctor Who any more. I think I'm past the point of caring whether next weeks episode will be good or not. It's just something I watch out of habit.

Watching it on iplayer, going this makes no sense. Only watched the 2nd episode without watching the first didn't I.
And good god Clara is smoking hot.

I didn't actually mind them as a chekovs gun and a gag seeing as he was playing with them throughout both parts, but then the preview shows we'll have them again this week, that's where I draw the line.

Didnt know what to think of the last few episodes.

Still going to watch it tonight but still. Mainly out of habit i guess. Watched it for that long. Just cant let myself miss it lol.

Just watched the new episode tonight. Thought it was pretty good actually. Far better than the last two episodes. Bit more explanation, realism, wonder. I like that. Looking forward to the next one for sure :).

Liked it, but then after opening episode of the season set up so much and then the follow up episode ****ed away all the goodwill and potential created so I'll reserve judgement until I see the second part of this arc.
