Doctor Who

Indeed you cant be the only one, but you are a "few" over the past 40 odd years, If you was born in the UK,
How would that work? She's already The Master. She can't really be two different people and even if she could, she'd end up destroying everything anyway... [/programme]

Missy (as in The Mistress) is the female incarnation of The Master, a fellow Timelord and one of the constantly recurring villains from Classic Dr Who. Considered so well known, like the Daleks, that it generally doesn't matter if you have actually watched any of the backstory. You just need to know that he/she and the Doc are basically the last two Timelords and she's 'the evil one'....

meh tomato tomato, have never seen Big :)

True enough, he was however way to young to be a Dr or at the very least baby faced, But then i am not really into his acting either so was always going to hard for him to work for me as a Dr.

Still the list still stands at

Tenet
Ecclestone
Baker
Capaldi

Everyone else was just meh :)

My list was pretty much the same. Didn't like smith one bit at all when he first came on. But recently have watched them all again (probably several times at this point), has made me really realise just how good he and the writing was. Smith, amy, rory and river make an excellent team. Clara was also good with smith.

He is a bit young, but felt fresh. However his overall enthusiasm/quirkyness did it for me. Dancing imature excited kid from one second to a powerful character where even the daleks are trembling at the sound of his voice. Good writing and acting as a whole in 5-7, Very very good.

For me

Tennant
Smith
Eccleston
Baker
Capaldi

I still can't get past the feeling that all the episodes are shoehorning PC ******** into them and "look how modern and progressive we are". What was the point of dedicating so much time to the pregnant man in the last episode. Added absolutely nothing.

I saw a video of Tosin Cole out of character the other day and he seems like a totally normal likeable lad. Somehow they have him playing a bit of an idiot on the show and I really don't like his character. As others have said, there is far too much focus on the sidekicks in this series and its all a bit pedestrian.

Whilst it was nice finally getting a new alien on Dr Who it was a let down with recycled ideas.

Not feeling the companions at all this season so far, feel wasted and are hardly adding anything to the plot unless things change towards the end.

I saw an article in The Sun today (I was blatantly reading over the shoulder of the guy next to me in a cafe :)) and it stated that the show's had a huge fall in viewer numbers since it started and it keeps going down.

I'm sure some will say its because of a female doctor being rubbish and others will say its because everyone is sexist and a misogynist but this series is just a bit of a perfect storm of an underwhelming doctor, crap supporting cast, rubbish writing, poor plot lines and shoehorned flavour of the month socio political preaching.

Completely agree with this, its not any one thing its everything.

I was almost excited in last weeks episode at the thought that the ‘sonic’ might be dead.

Sadly not. And she still wields it like a magic wand in Harry Potter. Terrible, dreadful. I don’t know if it’s her take or down to the director but it’s awful.

There certainly does seem to be an OTT obsession with the sonic in this season. Its like I said before, most of their situations have not been resolved by the knowledge, cunning or wisdom of the Doctor but by the magic sonic, literally anyone using the sonic could have done it, which all serves to further compound the perception that the Doctor is just another cast member rather than the special one.

yeah it does annoy me how she uses it, it looks stupid.

IMO the Doctor isn't even that bad, not the best but certainly no worse than Crapaldi. If she had the quality or writing that Tennant/Smith had this series would be great.

Lets be honest, this show is going to get cancelled if it carries on like this as the ratings are plummeting fast. The writing and casting are ******* terrible.

Only watched last episode mid-week. I quite liked it, to be honest.

Not really into the present-day earth episodes so, other than the standout historic one, my favourites have been the two space/alien stories.

Being realistic the show was on a downward trend even before this. I think it's run its course regardless of who's playing the Doctor. The problem the producers now have is that they can't cancel it after the first female lead. So there will be a couple of 'meh' series, then a further attempt with a new (male) Doctor and then it will be canned again before being rebooted in the distant future.
