Doctor Who

Catherine Tate is awful :( :( :(

Too bloody right! I think it was a case of the BBC having to find something for her to do because they'd paid her a substantial wad of cash. Much the same as they did with Graham Norton, threw money at him and then had to find things for him to do to justify themselves.

I propose replacing catherine tate with a westcountry farmer. "ee byyy gumm its an aleean, oo arrr"

Nothing can be worse than her accent. I thought she'd be able to speak like she had a brain, but it looks like they've taken her character from her own awful show and dropped it right into doctor who.

Can't stop laughing at the westcountry farmer thing.

Am I the only one who thinks Tate is quite good in this new series? Adds a new element to the story compared to Martha.

Im starting to like her! Im warming to her outburts of comedy, the first episode had me in fits when she kicked off "YOU WANT TOO MATE?" LMAO

The second episode was fantastic imho and donna is starting to settle in the role :)

Catherine Tate is legions better than the cardboard cretin that was Martha Jones... I rate Martha as one of the worst companions ever, she's up there with Mel (Bonnie Langford) IMO.

At least Donna has a personality, and her presence actually seems to matter (unlike Martha)

I really liked the episdoe and im liking Tate as a companion a lot more than i thought.

Another hint at this series keyword tonight, the shadow proclomation was mentioned again as it was last episode

Billy was meh favourite. Catherine Tate is ok, tries to be funny and fails rather badly at times.

Says a lot though when Billie Piper can make a two second appearance and steal the show.

I think Tate's doing okay so far, have never watched her before because I never really liked her so am not noticing the similarities of characters.

What was that about a planet going missing as well, it seemed to be a very throw-away line but that seems to be how Davies works when giving not so subtle hints. Could it be Rose related (And possibly Time-War as well, seemed to focus a lot on the Doctor and Gallifrey).

Plus the mention of the destruction of another planet (last week being the planet where the adipose were bred). Apparently the motions for this year's finale were set in place in series 1, according to wiki at least.

Think we will see better from CT.
FIrst episode was ludicrously bad, i nearly turned it off when i got bored of the nearly finding each other line.
Talking through the windows with the villan overlooking was class though.

Get CT up against the Daleks or Cybermen and i'm sure we will have belly laughs.

So what is it with the Rose thing ?
She found a way to project herself ?
Doctor needed the power of a SN so how is she doing it ? if it indeeed is her.

I think she's a welcome break from the submissive assistant as it was getting a little old... not so easy on the eyes as Billie but does inject her own thing into the series.

I have to say that was a much better episode. The fact that they were lobotomised yet were still able to join in as normal once freed didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense, but the episode flowed well. Only real downsides was the episode being punctuated by bad Catherine Tate acting.
