Doctor Who

Honestly I only checked the episode out because Wallace and Gromit followed up straight after.
Well..Save me the effort. How was it? was the story coherent? did it have a lot of suitably stupid names dreamt up by RTD? Was Mrs. Brian may in it, and indeed, was it revealed who Mrs. Dirty den actually is? Are there any compelling reasons for me to check out...The show?

Is that 6th most watched "terrestrial" channels only or does that include shows on streaming channels?
All UK TV. Streaming very rarely gets in the top ten. I've seen Bridgerton and Clarkson farm in there a few times.

The most watched show was Gavin and Stacey with over 12 million. First time in 10 years that a Christmas day show got that many viewers.

12 million people watching james corden. Christ. Britain really is a nation of masochists and degenerates.

Gavin and Stacey was top?? Good grief. What terrible taste the UK has ...

Mind you, looking at that list... Gavin and Stacey, Eastenders, Call the Midwife, Strictly Come Dancing...I dont think UK tv was made for me :)

I'm afraid I think RTD has disappointed.

I was so confident that when he came back he'd take the show back to what I've been missing since 2010 but I watched the specials and then the 14th's first episode and something was missing.

It doesn't seem to have improved much from what I hear - and I am not inclined to watch it and frankly haven't missed it.

It's such a shame, I just wonder what RTD has been doing all of this time that even he could not save this show.

So,
there was a thing happening in the world, the doctor involved themselves simply because curious, created a problem by interfering risking the earth, then didn't save anyone or anything and it got resolved by itself. Either by it's original design or due to the people it took in.
The doctor spent a year going the long way round, could have been interesting but was skipped over, mentioned the numbers thing should cause a paradox but they are in a paradox proof area "because".

Why is our hero here? Which characters have any growth? Who saved the day?
Irrelevant episode not connected to anything, skip it if you aren't watching all Who regardless. Rewatch a better previous episode instead.

I used to dislike every new doctor for a season or two and going back and watching them I'd like them a lot more. But the writing quality of the last several seasons is terrible, regardless of messaging/politics.

It's a lovely Christmas story and they are usually irrelevant in nature to the rest of the series. Very rarely have they had any impact.

It was resolved by Joy and the others, if they hadn't it would have destroyed the earth. So from a certain view the doctor intervening prevented the original plan for the seed occurring.
