Doctor Who

Don't blame Tennant for that, Richard T Davies was just a damn terrible writer.

Indeed and its something to remember allot of the time when an actor is blamed for something silly, if they're acting a certain way often its because the director/producer has told them to do it like that, or decided something has to be a certain way.

The same thing can be said for actors being praised for their acting, often they would have nothing without the actual writers to pen the lines for them to deliver or to write the scenes for them to act in.

Here's the new full score of the Doctor Who theme. Enjoy!

Doctor Who Theme 2010

Personally, it's growing on me since watching it the other night, and Matt Smith has a bit of Tom Baker in him which is pleasing to see. David Tennant was getting a bit too brash for my liking and the last 2 episodes of his finale was just plain terrible. The Doctor jumped out of a spaceship which was climbing fairly rapidly and crashed though a glass roof and landed on the floor. Surely that would've just splattered him?!

It's those first 15 seconds that really put me off, slice them out and the theme sounds grand, well apart from the choir bit.

Im not too keen on the new doctor, i found the first episode very boring and too comicy with anoying tom and jerry style background music through the whole episode.

But I suppose David Tennent was a tough act to follow.

Not quite, a good actor can sometimes shine even with a right old turd of a script and some actors can even over come bad direction.
Problem with this show, is everybody is on the act.

That was superb, everything about it felt so much more assured under the hand of Moffat and the "basically.... run" line was utter genius.

Just watched the episode again on iPlayer and that line, along with the...

"I was in the Library......So was the swimming pool..":p

Can't wait for tonights episode, on in half an hour for those waiting!:D

I like how the union jack was upside down on the side of the ship, also that crack appeared at the end again. Looks like it might be a running theme like "badwolf" was.

Be interesting to see what happens with the daleks next week, if theyre all killed off again or the epsiode ends differently for once. Davies semeed to love bringing them back only for them to get whooped at the end constantly, the Dalek crucible was a good example of that

Yeah noticed the crack too.

That was an excellent episode, one of the best in the entire new Dr Who IMO. Seemed to finish so quickly though. :(

Interesting that Amy realised the doctor was so old and so similar to the whale. Just one question, why did we have to use a whale, how did all the other nations escape?

Can't wait for next week, only time I really enjoy it is when the Daleks are in it.

Think it's kinda lame their using a plot with the British using Daleks, the Daleks would be more suited to the Nazi's, especially the old skool Renegade Daleks.

Im awaiting the inevitable next week of the Daleks appearing, trying to rebuild their empire then all geting killed off again. I dunno why they can't build a storyline around the Daleks being in the background as a threat as their empire gets rebuilt. Upto now theyre really not a threat as the outcome is the same every time. Just hope this new guy has better plans for them than Davies.

From my post in another forum in relation to the latest episode:

I enjoyed that episode. Much better storytelling then I've been getting used to from the Doctor Who Executive Producer. With the space whale turning out to have volunteered to help the humans and all that. Stephen Moffat is miles better at explaining his plots through uses of flashbacks then his predecessor was (probably because RTD thought the term "plot" was from a foreign language) and I am enjoying his writing so far. Nothing Spectacular so far (hence the Good vote) but I'm sure an Excellent episode will come in due course. We have a Dalek story next week aswell, looking forward to that with Ironside...that name comes from Iron Man if I'm not mistaken...

All in all, I'm enjoying the new Doctor. Good work Matt Smith, good work.
