Doctor Who

I was impressed with the first episode of the new season. Decent script and overall production.

Then I watch 2 and 3 and everything seemed to be going downhill. Half of that shambles with the Daleks was complete nonsense, hopefully they can pick themselves up again.

I thought the whole point of multicoloured Daleks was so the BBC could sell them as a collection ?

or am I missing a subtle plot device ;)

Cynic:p

I think it's more a way of emphasising that these aren't just going to be the same old daleks, and a nod to the films where there were specialised Dalek types rather than them generally being fairly dumb drones with just one or maybe two very slightly smarter leaders.

If they actually play to the improved Dalek idea it could be quite good and make for better bad guys :)

Of course the fact it allows them to sell 4 or 5 models rather than just one is a nice touch:p

You would think that if the Daleks were going to upgrade, they would do something about their heavily restricted arc of fire laser cannon thing.

Even we mere humans had the common sense to put our guns on rotating turrets decades ago.

That's where this fella comes in.....

See now thats more like it, though you would think that multiple cannons would be more effective than just 1. Got a 360 degree shape to them, not much point in having just 1 cannon.

Also something to shoot directly above or below them would be useful. Strikes me that the best way to fight them is still to attack from above or below where they have no arc of fire.

I prefer Alycia Purrott who played the pink ranger in Power Rangers SPD.

i'm 21 remember the classic mighty morphin power ranger (takes me back) but used to watch SPD when bored and nothing else on

All I can remember was the originals really. Anyone remember Mr Motivator?

He used to do the fitness section and introduce the Power Rangers.

Ok so now we are off topic........ Maybe they could make Mr Motivator a baddie in Doctor Who :D See I brought it back on topic :p

Those cuts to the ARP guy were to show the blackout with the classic phrase "put that light out" to indicate how important the blackout was.

And ffs - DALEKS! There is no smegging R in DALEKS!

ha, my bad on the spelling. i know its not got an R but as i type quick and flick between here and autosport in my spare time im very lazy with my spelling :p

i know what they were trying to do, but it just came across as stupidly daft, some guy on the roof shouting every odd scene. they didnt even involve him in the main story by introducing him to the doctor. so it was just some random old bloke shouting at lights.

was a very poor episode. so disjointed, script was horrendous, went from decent idea to collosal rubbish story. the doctor trying to convince the robot he was infact human to stop the bomb seemed to lack any emotion whatsoever thanks to the terrible lines. i just sat there with my hand in my palm the entire episode thinking i could have done a far better job with A) the lines and B) the plot devices/progress aswell as scene progression.

it felt so cheap, like it was rushed in 5 minutes, oh well do darleks... and yeh the war... and well have him and churchill form some kind of buddy movie partnership.

having the doctor simply tell amy pond to shut up with no device for snapping at her was appauling. the previous episode he snapped at mankind for a very rightful reason, they had let him down, the capture of the Whale was a very sad moment for mankind in which they dropped in his opinion as everybody on the ship chose to overlook the situation. this is a device. in this he just told amy to shut up because she was inexperienced. The doctor always takes on his companions opinions and thoughts, she keeps him grounded and this has always been a constant. just felt kind of rude.

i could go on for a long time, this was a **** poor episode which i hope to forget by the end of this season.

Behold the "storm dalek"

Apparently this was based on a rejected design, looks a bit similar in some respects to the new design of Daleks that were just introduced, although obviously toting more firepower.

Will Smiff "Now THATS what I'm talking about!" Much better then our iPod/Teletubby daleks. Great. Now kids growing up with this generation of Dr.Who will love the daleks instead of fearing them.
