Those cuts to the ARP guy were to show the blackout with the classic phrase "put that light out" to indicate how important the blackout was.
And ffs - DALEKS! There is no smegging R in DALEKS!
ha, my bad on the spelling. i know its not got an R but as i type quick and flick between here and autosport in my spare time im very lazy with my spelling
i know what they were trying to do, but it just came across as stupidly daft, some guy on the roof shouting every odd scene. they didnt even involve him in the main story by introducing him to the doctor. so it was just some random old bloke shouting at lights.
was a very poor episode. so disjointed, script was horrendous, went from decent idea to collosal rubbish story. the doctor trying to convince the robot he was infact human to stop the bomb seemed to lack any emotion whatsoever thanks to the terrible lines. i just sat there with my hand in my palm the entire episode thinking i could have done a far better job with A) the lines and B) the plot devices/progress aswell as scene progression.
it felt so cheap, like it was rushed in 5 minutes, oh well do darleks... and yeh the war... and well have him and churchill form some kind of buddy movie partnership.
having the doctor simply tell amy pond to shut up with no device for snapping at her was appauling. the previous episode he snapped at mankind for a very rightful reason, they had let him down, the capture of the Whale was a very sad moment for mankind in which they dropped in his opinion as everybody on the ship chose to overlook the situation. this is a device. in this he just told amy to shut up because she was inexperienced. The doctor always takes on his companions opinions and thoughts, she keeps him grounded and this has always been a constant. just felt kind of rude.
i could go on for a long time, this was a **** poor episode which i hope to forget by the end of this season.
