The plane thing has made all the main headlines now and is definitely going ahead, unless they find some way to ground it? I bet the club are looking into it.

I really don't like the idea, it's crass to say the least. I don't think Moyes is the right man for the job but I don't want him to be humiliated like this, I'd much prefer it if he left with some dignity.

Meh. :(

so moyes claims SAF would have struggled with an ageing squad

Where does it say that in the article?

He says:

"If Sir Alex was here this year it would be difficult for him as well."

"People are aware there is a squad that was ageing so it would be a tough season for whoever was in charge."

I have no doubt that statement is correct. It would have been tough/tougher. Whether that means he would have only won the title by a point we will never know, but I can't believe people are so easily falling on a headline like that.

what a complete numpty. way to push your biggest supporter out of your corner.

Why did Fergie get out? He knows very well the squad was coming to the end of the road. RVP was an expensive band aid...

It's not just the age, it's the motivation that's just as important, he wouldn't mention that though, you'd upset a lot of them...that's the final 1% that makes the difference to getting to that 50/50

Dear god now Moyes is blaming an aging squad?

Age is experience which is usually a good thing. Losing pace because you're slow is a bad thing. So why, knowing our squad was aging amd presumably slower did he not buy young fit and fast players? Why buy Fellaini who's mega slow and mata anyway?

This is why he needs to go. States the obvious but contributes more to the problem than trying to fix it.

He wanted to retire after 25 years having won the title but stayed on for one more season because City won it that year. Do you honestly think if he had retired and Moyes had taken over last season they would've won the title?

No, definitely not. Again...comparing oranges to apples..

Moyes isn't Fergie though. Moyes has never manager a top club as well, it's different on every level. I think motivation is the biggest factor with it all for sure.

Also, City and Chelsea have got very good managers now as well. It's not so much of 2/3 horse race etc. Liverpool are having a great go with it as well.

How many goals did RVP score last season? 25 or something? He hasn't scored anywhere near that this season. Doesn't matter how good your defence is, you'll never win if you don't score.

Edit, i'll just add...Fergie didn't win a title for 4 year was it? What about that? It's more competitive now as well.

I may think he's the wrong man for the job but doing that with the banner doesn't help anyone.

Looking at that sub, does he think Carrick could be moulded into a good central defender? :D

I'm a neutral - but in all seriousness is anybody really a neutral? Man Utd are the least popular club in the country - every supporter of another club in this country must be delighted to see how Moyes is getting on?

The very fact that Everton are doing so well and that Moyes has dragged the premier league winning team down to their level and below should be enough to see him sacked at the end of the season.

Simply not good enough. United are going to finish 6th at best unless Everton capitulate in their remaining games.

Moyes' many shortcomings are hilarious to watch now that they're happening to someone else.

Negative press conferences, players played out of position and no idea how to change a game using subs. It's lovely.

I doubt they can finish 6th.
7th is absolutely the right position Moyes should be in. That's how good he and his team are.

There seem to be a lot of people who have faith in Moyes.
First they believed that he could finish in the top 4 (when I was saying that this is in no way possible). And now, still, there are some who believe he can finish in 6th - very very unlikely.

Moyes is and has been terrible this season.
So many negative records (I've lost count) and dragging the reigning champions down to mid-table.
People have been making excuses (the team is old, Man Utd are in transition, etc), but I don't buy any of those excuses.

Furthermore, we need to look at what his former team are doing - they are excelling now that he has left. It proves that Moyes is great at holding teams back. How is this guy expected to win trophies, when he hasnt won a trophy in so many years of management?

Not to mention Martinez has done it with money added to the bank by selling some clueless idiot a Stoke class player for £28m. :p
