Does something need to be done about dogs?

This happened just round the corner from my mums house about 100m away. She didn't hear anything and only noticed the police van blocking off the street when she went out in the day. There are 2 other people who live within the same distance 1 guy been convicted several times of drugs and firearms offences and owns a very aggressive big dog, Another, who not long ago got out of prison for killing someone by beating them to death with a baseball bat, owns 2 very large aggressive dogs that are kept behind gates that go mental every time someone walks past their house talking.

Sound like the ideal dog owners. We should give them more dogs!

It's becoming regular like mass shootings in the US

And the people on here are displaying the same level of ambivalence/disregard as gun owners in the states.
Quite interesting to see! The same excuses. The same whataboutery.

Well I'd like you to explain further, unsure how you cant see that.
Maybe instead of getting your knickers in a twist when you see my name, you can act like a big boy and reply to the message.

To really make it clear, I'd love to see where I am "displaying the same level of ambivalence/disregard as gun owners" as you say.

Talk about megalomania. Assuming it was about you. Thirsty for attention?
Perhaps though, if you want a clue, look at people excusing firearm possession and the arguments they make and then the arguments people in this thread are making against dog controls.

Dis86 - makes fleeting statement, does not want to back it up with really what he means, expects users to go through pages to get to a point, he is making but wont confirm how.

Logic.

I'll tell my blind neighbour to go put her dog down as its not essential.

It's not essential. It's a nice to have for her. Are all dogs guide dogs?

But a gun is literally a weapon.

In almost all cases, their sole design and creation purpose was to kill other humans.

A dog is not. Yes, they can be used as a weapon, and some have in the past been bred as weapons, but in general terms and in the majority of cases, a modern domestic dog is not a weapon and poses very little danger to anyone.

Yet we've got the stats to show just how many people are harmed or even killed by domestic dogs in this country which completely contradict your argument.

Many firearms are designed for sport shooting.

People get harmed or injured by things that aren't designed to injure or harm them all the time.

Should we abolish the kitchen knife? Do away with the combi drill? Ban shaving razors?

No, we shouldn't

We should ban something that's sole purpose is to kill as many people as efficiently and quickly as possible.

But that's not the purpose of a sports rifle...yet they're controlled.
That's not the purpose of an air rifle...yet they're controlled.
Kitchen knives and razors are controlled so you've just come up with another crap argument

How many children have accidentally been killed by combi-drills over the last 20 years?

Looks like those wanting something to be done about dogs have their wish, the owner / handler of two dogs allegedly dangerously out of control and having attacked some woman has been tasered and both their dogs shot.

Somewhere in England, can't recall where. Seems that was wrong too, someone was complaining about police brutality...

Limehouse, London. Again the problem is that there has already been a victim.
