Does something need to be done about dogs?

It is tragic, but children die from all types of reasons.

I think you seem to not understand the logic behind this.

A child could get killed by anything potentially. Do you therefore never take them to a theme park? Never let them go go karting? Never take them swimming in the sea? Never let them pet a goat at the zoo/farm?

Getting rid of dogs will not stop children dying in tragic ways, and even if you got rid of all dogs in this country you may save a few children at most. It just is not rational.

Yes but other things are controlled and regulated in order to minimise such events.

and so are dogs.

We can just continue to improve that to see if things can be made more safe.

However, they will never be 100% safe even with all the rules and regulations you can think off. There is inherent risk in anything.

But if you take away the risk, you eliminate any sort of joy or excitement from life.

No, they're not. Anyone can go out and obtain a dog of any size or temperament.

And feel free to risk yourself, don't risk others.

But there are LOADS of things people can go out and buy and do that could kill you.

You could be killed by a kid riding a bicycle.

You could be killed by someone's RC plane.

You could be killed by an errant Skateboard flying at your head.

You could be killed by a paddle board

And how many third parties combined have those activities killed last year?

You said you stated several times you'd proposed a solution? Why backtrack on that - I'm keen to hear it, or if you could expand on it.

Now you're just being facetious, you obviously don't have anything constructive to say.

There's a difference between proposing a solution and knowing the solution. A gulf infact.
You clearly have nothing to offer other than old stats and no answers when questioned. So again, you're saying there's no problem so therefore you are happy for children to continue to die so you can own fluffy.

Well ok - a proposal is good enough for me, I'd like to hear it :)

I mean, this is turning into a big strawman for several reasons, I never said "there's no problem" and I'm obviously not happy for "children to continue to die", you're just being flippant because you think you're a smarty man.

You also know that I'm concerned about some breeds such as the American Bully XL, problems around crossbreeding and people who just want to make monsters rather than pets or useful animals. So don't tell me I said "there's no problem" because there clearly are some problems and I've discussed them several times in this thread.

Except its not just 'monsters' that are the problem. Ref dog walker who was seemingly attacked by a freaking sausage dog, amongst others. And that's a grown and seemingly fit adult.

It would be far easier and quicker for you simply state the page on which it can be found. That’s the point of proper citation.

It would have been far quicker for him to type a couple of words in to the search box on the pdf than a post here. Tbh its worth a read of the doc in full. Some interesting points and stats. Quote in question is in the opener to section 2.
