Does your post count matter to you?

Not a huge amount really. As people have said, it just gives an idea of how much someone contributes.

Like a couple of others, I read far more than I post.

Whats this post donation/auction thing all about?

Various threads have been started where you could 'donate' your posts to a worthy cause, people would then bid on them and the money raised goes to the charity/cause involved. The winner(s) get the posts they bid for, the charity gets some additional funds, markyp23 gets to "lol" when it is mentioned and everyone comes out smiling. I think the last one was for Rememberance Day. :)

I used to. It demonstrated to me how much I've contributed.

However, as a mod and admin I've done more than I could have as a normal poster, so not any more.

are you not just a normal poster who just has ability to nuke things from orbit ? ;):D

maybe there should be a 'nuke' counter

Not really, considering the charity posts upped many people to a huge 50,000+ I don't see the point in caring as it doesn't show your contribution. As some of the older standing members might have had theirs reset in the charity thing.

I do occasionaly glance at them to check whether it's a newbie or "They shudda known better to post that", so it can be usefull.

So does the number of your post count matter to you, or not at all? In some places it's removed to stop post spamming [though it doesn't seem to make any difference]. Personally it's not something I really pay attention to.
Of course. I've more posts then you, therefore I'm better.

In fact, you should be paying me taxes.

No of course not, I'm more likely to look at someones' joined date (despite "The Great Nuke") or just have my particular favourites, whose posts I'll make an effort to read. Plus many people, myself included, give away lots of posts in the auctions.

Simply put, yes, but there's other stuff has to go on in the background.

yeah :( ,I was only pullin ya leg man.. been admin of a largish member board before and it's a hellish task, dont envy it tbh (especially with trolls like myself)

Not really needed in a forum with a relatively small community such as OcUK.

Anyway, we all know Paradigm is a waste of space spammer.

Not important but it is of interest - over the years I've not really posted a huge amount of 1-line +1 and spams etc, so it's of interest because somehow I've accumulated 10k odd posts of stuff which I felt was actually worth writing about, astonishingly :p

You can't always take the quality of a post as true indication of the posters attitude towards the forums. When the quality is crap I look to the post count. Would like to think the same applies to other people looking at what I type :).

That said even age old posters come out with questionable and noobish posts so it's not fool proof.
