Donald Trump

Last nights briefing and his attack upon that reporter was nothing more than a calculated attack.
Firstly attacked for looking Chinese in appearance and then as a woman because let’s face it Trump can’t handle a strong willed woman ;).
And as usual the TDF crew are here defending this xenophobic, racist piece of orange garbage. Loaded question my ass lol, everything to Trump is like a competition and no they are in no way leading the world in testing lol. That’s what’s the most hilarious thing about that briefing, those big posters saying they are number 1. No you are not, you rank just above Belarus in testing ;).

He acted like a spoilt child, but I also agree there was no need for that reporter to bring racism into it. Is he not allowed to mention China at all to her because she’s part Chinese?

His fervent supporters are incapable of just saying "yeah he went a bit far last night. Not ideal but I still support him anyway". It just shows how blindly they follow.

There isn't ever any acknowledgement of poor conduct.

Just 100% agreement with the guy.

So pathetic.

Ordering my maga hat from ebay, only a fiver :D

They're so dumb they'll never notice. :D

I wouldn't say she brought race into it. Trump said to ask China in a rather antagonistic manner, not that the reporter could do that in a press briefing being held by the POTUS, and not that China has any relevance to the question of why being #1 in the world on substandard testing is important to him, and she, rightly IMO, called him out on it because why wouldn't you when someone basically attempts to deflect a question by saying you should ask someone else.

I mean what relevance does China have to why being number 1 in the world on testing is important and why Trump seems to be treating testing as a global competition, when someone doesn't explain why something is relevant it's only natural to try and find relevance on their behalf, and in this case she assumed (an acceptable assumption given his history on race) the relevance was the race of the person asking the question.

I thought Trump’s response was along the lines of ‘we don’t think it’s a competition - China are clearly amending their figures so why don’t you ask them?’

He is a complete boob and is often very clumsy but I don’t think his response this time was necessarily based on the reporter in question.

Walking out was hilarious though.

Lol that's amazing. Wife asking why I am laughing and now I have to try and explain Obamagate and the TDF.

Ah, this one is easy. What you do it take a little post-it sized note, scribble something down which is of no relevance to the question whatsoever but when viewed at exactly 12:13 on the fourth of every month, but only if it's a full moon day, could be seen as an answer.

Then you hide it somewhere in the house, and when she asks, you simply say "already been asked and answered, the answer is in this house somewhere" and then ignore all future engagements relating to it.

What an embarrassment...

I feel sorry for the US having this man-child as their representative to the world, after having such an eloquent speaker preside before him.

Remember when Obama went to a Republican retreat and answered all their questions that they could throw at him? Or she he sat down on Fox news for an interview, knowing full well how much they hated him and would attack him?

I'd love to see Trump try that with the Democrats or CNN, it would be a train wreck! He can't even answer simple questions at a short press brief..

Or his response could have gone along the lines of "You could a go and live in China where their government makes their numbers up and will not allow the media to challenge them" - oh wait

So you think America should be more like China by making their numbers up and not allowing the media to challenge them?

This is the ol' if you criticize something you must hate it and want to leave line isn't it.

What on gods earth you talking about?? I don’t recall her saying anything about China

It was Trump that took one look at her, saw she was Chinese or of Chinese ethnicity and decided to make the attack on her and her appearance.

I don’t think saying “Why don’t you ask China” qualifies as an attack. Inappropriate maybe, but not an attack.

Trouble is we have had 3.5 years of petulant and childish behaviour, who thrives on attacking people and starting fights. He lost leeway and the benefit of doubt a long time ago.

That’s what I meant by inappropriate, but definitely not a racist attack like some are saying.
He has history with that particular reporter so even if he wasn't racist on this occasion, he doesn't deserve any sympathy. It's obvious to anyone watching that, unless you agree 100% with what he is telling you, you don't deserve to be in his presence.

So Statesman like and Presidential to flounce of like a big girls blouse, how proud the USA must be to have a leader of such caliber. (This is sarcasm BTW)
