You can only prepare for things that have a reasonable chance of actually happening, otherwise we'd be spending our entire government budget building rockets with nuclear bombs attached to fire at an asteroid which might never hit, amongst every other potential disaster that could happen. There's a lot of people benefiting from hindsight in their criticism, China only reported 4 thousand deaths in Wuhan and the WHO were saying the virus wasn't transmitted human to human in January, yet people expected us to lock down the country at the first sign of a case, and the fact we didn't is now Boris Johnson and Trumps fault.

*Sigh* Go and read the pandemic playbook that was created under the Obama administration. And they specifically a response to novel coronaviruses in the past as it was highlighted to be a major threat. It specifically lists in there Coronaviruses as a threat and how to deal with it. I also posted an article on the previous page from The Guardian that states that the US and the UK were number #1 and number #2 in the world for their ability to deal with any pandemic. That was before both the US and the UK government fumbled around like buffoons trying to play catch with a stick of butter and failing miserably.

Flynn and others were already being spied before Trump took office, there we no FISAs, the Dems just did it , thinking it would never be a problem because Hillary would win. They realised that wasn't going to be the case, so they started filing FISA's like crazy to cover their arse, but you have to have a reason to get a FISA. Hence the "Russian collusion" cover story was invented as the pretext to their spying.

It’s the same reason McCain got a copy of the dossier and gave it to the FBI. They were creating a cover story. They needed to pretend to “accidentally” find the Flynn call to explain how they knew about it. So you get your intel guys to talk about an intercepted call from Kislyak (a Russian - lower classification to have his call). Once you get it, you request an unmasking where you “discover” the the Russian was talking to (gasp) Flynn.

Congratulations, you've now created a paper trail that explains why you can be privy to that info

To normal sane people that is ALL that matters.
But to people like mmj_uk, tang0 and other Trump supporters, facts do not matter one single bit. They live in a reality which is full of utter **** but yet they still continue to regurgitate constantly.

Sigh, this again.....

He was ambushed in an interview with FBI agents Peter Strzok and Joseph Pientka, at the direction of James Comey about his phone conversation with Russian Ambassador Kisliyak. Flynn spoke with Kisliyak in his capacity as incoming National Security Advisor.

Except Strzok and Pientka lied about the purpose of the interview and did not tell Flynn they were there to investigate him, otherwise Flynn would have had a lawyer present. The two agents, based on recently declassified notes, were there to try to get Flynn to state something incorrectly so they could charge him with making false statements to federal investigators.

Strzok and Pientka already had a transcript of the call, from which Flynn's name had been illegally unmasked, so they could easily try to find an instance in which he remembered something incorrectly and then have him charged. Strzok and Pientka actually thought Flynn was being completely honest, according to the "302" memo originally filled out. This 302 was later "lost" and replaced by one that Strzok rewrote in which Strzok accuses Flynn of making a false statement (see text messages "edits")

He told Pence he did not remember discussing Russian sanctions with Russian ambassador Kislyak. Then Obama admin ILLEGALLY leaked the call transcripts to the media showing it briefly came up. It was one part of the Crossfire traps designed to cause a rift in the incoming administration. It was orchestrated between the Obama admin, the media and the IC.

So to sumarise Obama Administration set Flynn up by recording and unmasking him, then sending two FBI agents to ambush him in an interview him under false pretenses to try to catch him remembering something incorrectly so they could charge him with lying. That's it. There are written records now declassified showing that this was exactly what the FBI wanted to do, get him to make a statement that they could say was false and change him.

Does spying on Russian assets require a FISA request ? As far I understand is America and Russia have been spying on each since before World War 2 (if not before) ?

Flynn was caught talking to Russians who were under surveillance, what screwed him was he denied having these conversations not only to Pence and Trump but to the FBI whilst under oath.
