I emailed all of my details to Neil yesterday. Again he asked my purchase price, why on earth do they need that? They are advertising this program at being comparable in cost to previous mxm upgrades, they've never asked the purchase price when I have bought MXM cards in the past.
Did anyone get a response from MSI as to why they are quoting retail prices when we are purchasing direct from the manufacturer and retail are not involved in any way?
they are quoting Suggested Retail Prices, I've argued the toss on this one, this is they prices they suggest to retailers, it's up to the retailers to decide how much they make on the laptop and what to sell it for.
just give him the information he asks for he is trying mate, if your not happy with the price, try and negotiate or try and get a higher spec at a decent price so your set for another 1-2 years.
to be fair if you take the same deal (if it goes through) as me at 564 thats not to bad
considering - 600-700GBP shipped 1070 mxm upgrade
-250 to 350 for your old card (minus fees)
+ labour/shipping if MSI did the upgrade (you could probably save here and DIY).
around 500 average is what it would have cost us, maybe thats fair for you also? idk maybe MSI can throw in a game code (im sure they have many unused freebies) to sweeten the deal / gesture of good will for this
**** up? or a -5% discount on your next MSI product
best thing to do is email neil with all the
**** he requires to do his job, tlel him what laptop your interested in and give him a price of what you are willing to pay, then you go from there.
you can still choose to reject the final offer, take them to small claims/ombudsman with a very high chance of success (i see box have now taken the MXM advertising down pretty sharpish) and see what you get from there, but you could end up with nothing or a full refund, thats a risk for you also there is no gaurentee the laptop you want will still be available.
you can also choose no longer to support MSI and not buy anything, leave reviews of your experience to warn others and continue your happy gaming life either with a new MSI laptop at a reasonable price, or get an asus or other brand perhaps....
