Doom - The Dark Ages (2025)

I loved Doom 2016. I got about 1/4 of the way through Eternal before I stopped because of all the Denuvo controversy and never started back up. I do remember not really liking the platforming, nor the way the ammo worked with the glory kills almost being a requirement to get more ammo.

This....looks a bit more of the same as Eternal, plus some gimmicks that don't seem all that great. The mecha part had no weight, all the enemies and yourself practically moved at normal speed, so what's the point of it other than "omg bigger = better le epic"? And the shield...hmm. I'm sceptical.

Wasn't there a bit with a tank in Quake 4...or a giant mech suit or something? Been a while :)

There probably was, been so long since I played that. But I mean the general game play style. ID described the Doom Slayer as a tank, holding your ground, blocking fire with the shield.

Same here, when I first saw trailers for Doom 2016 I thought it looked awesome and then the trailers for Eternal looked great with all the maneuverabilty, jumping through the air, constantly moving etc but this just looked kinda meh with the shield. Hopefully I'm wrong but with £70 entry price then can get ****** at launch.
