Doom - The Dark Ages (2025)

£10 or there abouts is when I pick it up
Basing that on the sheer amount of games I have to playnative the moment.

Only time I spend £35 again is if it was what I would consider a must play game or a dev i want to support. Not many games coming out this year fit that category from the top of my head.

Unless Resident Evil games comes out this year or something :p

I digress.

The game does look cool as ****. One of the few that warrants being part of the PC Master Race.

But really, ID make good games so bring it on :)

There are very few games I'd pay £60-70 for, Doom is probably one of them, I've always enjoyed id games, they've been well polished and I expect this will be another good release, even if it turns out to be more of the same (2016/Eternal).

Gamepass here so I shall be bathing in the rays of light via path tracing glory come release day

Doom Eternal is a perfect action shooter, it was so much fun to play, inspired me to get the gold armour and the game felt so fun once you got quickswitching down pat and could just ignore most mechanics.

I'm a little concerned that this shield mechanic marks a turn to more boring gameplay, or that they'll nerf quickswap combos

Also who the hell is left to fight once you've beaten the literal creator of the universe, haha

£52.99 on cdkeys. I don't pre-order unless it's through cdkeys to get a discount, and there is 0% chance I will not wanna play this on release so will throw the money at it.

Have they given any justification why the game is so expensive?

I imagine it will be no more than 15 - 20hrs single player game hardly worth £70!
