Doom Vulkan vs Open GL performance

Delighted is an understatement.

you posted openGL screenshot twice

Edit: nvm corrected
62% boost thats abit much lol, standing still doesnt count :D , unless they added crossfire support, or could be the resolution scalling, since i think you are on 4k, HBM bandwidth might just have a nice workout.
need more testing, im really glad vulkan delivered, too bad we cant compare it to DX11, would'v loved to see a good arse whooping

Also seen that their frostbite engine will support Vulkan by October which fingers crossed that means Battlefield 1 will do as well :)

Oh that would be nice! The option for players to have DX11, 12 and Vulkan means great performance and a bigger audience from a wider variety of systems.

Especially with how well Frostbite runs and looks.

One more, different area. I can't record gameplay footage so screenshots will have to do, but the gains are real. :)

Got 33 on open gl so about 40% :D

Like I said, for now put my 290x just behind a GTX 1070 which isnt bad for a 3 year old card that cost me £180

It seems that only in DX12 and Vulkan does the TFLOP value of GCN cards actually hold some weight outside of compute tasks.

That DX11 bottleneck in GCN cards is horrendous, I just hope Vulkan doesn't fall into a ditch like OpenGL did.

Ahhh ok, I believe you need to play the game to unlock those settings and I will confirm tomorrow. Work now but downloading and looking forward to a play.

Edit:

Just did a quick Google and it only unlocks for those with more than 5GB graphics cards.

That explains it.

I expect there's a way to unlock it so I'll give it a test to see if Vulkan can work magic on the memory limits.

AGreed. DX11 really holds back AMD cards from their potential performance. SHame really.

WOuld have been a good last few years if say every game had Vulkan and AMD would really be competing with Nvidia and prices would be cheaper etc
