So jealous. I've always wanted to go but never been. Sucks to have exams and friends who aren't into metal too :(

Wellies, yes. Thanks for the reminder, I turned up in trainers and saw a foot deep swamp in front on me when we got through the gates. Best £15 I ever spent on £3 wellies. Damn scalpers.

Would be interested in popping over and saying hello if anyone is meeting up, always good to put faces to usernames. :)

If its anything like Leeds Festival, Blue will be the camp that looks like Bosnia after a 2 or 3 days. I'm talking bad, 50% of tents ripped down, rubbish all over the place, fireworks, flares and fires going off, stuff being thrown around... (maybe Download is different)

Personally I quite enjoyed it drinking with friends in that camp are for a bit - but certainly wouldn't want to try and sleep there!

Last time i went to download blue certainly did look like Bosnia lol. Don't forget people crapping in each others tents.

Also don't get too close to the toilets, they will fill up, flood and create a little pee river by the end of the weekend. Last time i ended up in pink, stuck ourselves next to a giant of a tent with flags so we could find ours easy at night.
 
A pillow perhaps?

I made the mistake of packing a sleeping bag with no pillow, so after the first night I had perma-neckache :(
 
Loving the weather... Lol. Rain then sun the rain... I'm at the top of yellow to the left with mates. Got 2 pirate flags!
 
I was soooooo so looking forward to download ever since around christmas time...had the holidays booked and everything, then got a new job last month and found I couldn't go.

Gutted just isnt the word, feel completely deflated at the moment and would give my right testicle to be there. :(
 
One more sleep to go, I can't wait any longer for tomorrow lol!

Me & my mate are setting off from where we live for just after 8.30am, I hope the traffic isn't too manic!

Just got in, wow... what an immense day!

Maiden's performance was absolutely superb, 10x better than when I last saw them in July 2011. The Spitfire flyover was such a great addition to the introduction, and I must admit it sent shivers down my spine witnessing it and the build up to the performance. The whole atmosphere within the crowd was incredible, I really didn't want the day to end!

It was awesome to see Alice in Chains, Motorhead and QOTSA too - they all put on a great show too! Despite a bit of rain, the countless mud slides, being walked into/randomly hugged by completely wasted & stoned people (the never ending scent of the stuff throughout the whole area was unreal!) - it was still a brilliant day all round!
