Nah nothing to worry about - those other games are past their sell-by date (imo), just wait for the Demo for this to come out.

Actually... I'm being a hypocrite - I was so sick n tired of waiting for a decent PC game to come out, I bought myself a Xbox 360 :p

I dunno, I still get a great deal of enjoyment out of BF2 and 2142, and by the state of my clan server (regularily full) many other people do too. I'm just not so sure that QWET is going to be the game that'll pull everyone away from BF at least not if the Beta is anything to go by.

maybe you ain't as bad as your above posts suggest :D

I try my best ;)

If you're interested in video compression etc, there is quite a bit of info around.
For a simple and free solution, get Virtualdub http://www.virtualdub.org/
and install the Divx codec.

Run virtual dub - open your recorded avi files using file --> open (or something to that effect)
Go to Video --> Compression --> choose the Divx and just use the default values.

It can get much more complicated if you want it to be, but just by doing that - you'll have a great looking video at a fraction of the size.

NOW GO OUT THERE AND GET US SOME VIDEOS!!

:D

Managed to get a key from that link last night.

First impressions are that it's pretty good fun, the only thing I don't like is close combat, the player models seem jittery and stutter a little which makes killing people quite frustrating. Vehicles are nice but just feel a little bit lightweight. But it is a beta don't forget.

I love deployables and artillery strikes though. :D

No I don't think it will pull everyone away, but I don't think that's a bad thing. QWET is definitely more arcadey than BF2 which is what some people want. Those that don't will probably stick with BF2.

Hmmm dunno what to make of it yet, just played over an hour.

No major bugs as yet... apart from not been able to ready during warm up?

Graphics are okay... not great by any means (BF2142 looks a lot better) gameplay is fast, typical for a quake game tho!

Will have another blast later and see how it goes...
