Dragon Age: The Veilguard

I wanna play this but I'm not going to pay full price, I'm invested in the franchise having played all the DA games before so I wanna see what the story is like, how it continues but Ill be waiting for a big discount on it before purchasing.

Bad news for Mass Effect fans.

There'll be no DLC for DA:Veil Guard, and the whole team has started work on ME5.

Honestly, I've lost a lot of interest in DA. I played DA:Origins multiple times and I loved it. DA 2 was bad and I only played a bit. I have tried playing DA:I several times now. I've put a lot of time into the game but each playthrough I've lost interest maybe 70% of the way in.

The writing aside in this DA game, it just looks like it has been dumbed down even further. Gameplay wise DA:O is the only game that felt like a proper RPG and the only game I really enjoyed.

My doubts about this were there when I saw the first gameplay footage and nothing I have seen post launch have changed my mind.

been playing this a little bit

First thoughts: stupid writing, characters look like fortnite cartoon characters, enemies look like Pixar monsters, combat too easy, linear corridor maps with little exploration and puzzles so easy a 5 year old could solve them

Quick follow up to this. One other thing I found weird is when I was making a character I tried both male and female archetypes and for some reason all the selectable female presets look like males - I don't what it is in this game, but it's like they want you to make a female character that has a male chin, cheekbones and face shape and no matter which body type you choose you end up with jacked muscles and broad and bulgy male shoulders

Yeah my OH didn’t like how square her females face was.

She’s still enjoying the playthrough though

The game director inserting themselves. He/she is trans...

I thought the story of someone getting pronouns wrong and then doing 10 press ups as a punishment was a meme.. it's actually in the game...

That's nothing compared to the rest of the game

There's even propaganda in one of the codex of the game

Even if true, where's the good writing going to come from?
They could hire an actual author.

not that hard to find good ones. people who have actually wrote and sold books.

I'm sure there's many who would do it for not ridiculous prices.

there's loads of really good authors who are kinda unknown but do great books

As long as they're not white males, and class themselves as non-binary, I'm sure they'll consider hiring an external author.*

*They won't.
