Dragon Age: The Veilguard

There is an enemy level indicator on their health bar, it’s the number to the left I was trying to fight a level 20 boss at level 12 before I noticed it.

Number in white = close to your level
Yellow = above your level but doable
Red with a Skull symbol = you are seriously under levelled.
I've taken on a few bosses whilst quite under levelled.

I'm playing on 'Underdog' and though most of the fights are easy enough, it takes forever to whittle their health away so it's more a war of attrition.

May give this ago, never played any of the series so hopefully that will help with the critics its been getting.

Might as well do them in order DA:Origins Ultimate Edition which includes all DLC including DA:Awakenings, DA2, DA:Inquistion, DA:Veilguard..

By the time you get to Veilguard probably be bargain price :) .

Never played Dragon Age before are they all similar to this game?

No. The strange thing about DA is that they went in a very different direction with each game. There's no real and enduring identity to it, but at least it makes it easier to judge each game solely on their own merits.

Exactly, each one is very different from what i've seen.

But apparently people do hold the series in high regard, even though they don't like the majority of the games....

Third one is OK, got the full game inc DLC free on EPIC, you should join! :P

You mean DA Inquistion, I did not mine , more playing time then DA2, more open free large areas/towns you could go back and forth, sure skills dumb down but they always do that. I like it a lot more then Veilguard crap, you compare faces on Inquistion Qunari to Veilguard Qunari, where we all know which one looks like a sex change lol ....

Tbh I have too many games to complete yet so can't see me ever trying it. I will be jumping on STALKER 2 on release also :D

You can see where they cut out a lot of stuff in Veilguard, for example in DA Inquistion you get a chance to import your hero main character from DA2 (if you played the game) where he meets your inquistion leader character , in Veilguard they have a stupid women elf as inquistion leader (you get to meet her) , funny since my inquistion leader character I made from DA Inquisition was a male half elf, how they have cut corners in this game.
