DrMartens comedy clown boots

Just got some Timberland sprint trekker boots (made in Cambodia) and worn them first day at work and after 4hrs left boot is squeaking same as the docs.

Could I have a squeaky foot?

Will be returning them when I get home. I have the same pair in black and these are silent stealthy boots.
you sure it's just not the surface you are walking on?

most rubber sole footware will squeek on a polish surface...

Squeaky socks?

I bought a pair of docs for the first time last month, Timberlands for the first time too actually.

Didn’t know anything about the apparent quality issues these days. I’ve never actually been a fan of the look of the classic docs but saw some lovely green suede ones.

First time I wore them they totally destroyed my feet. Ended up getting two types of heel protectors from Amazon’s and a pair of darn tough extra thick socks. Huge pain in the arse, but love wearing them now.

A bit worried they won’t last after reading so much about their drop in quality, but just enjoying them for now.

I think I prefer the timberlands though. So comfy straight away. The only problem with both is the suede is a huge pain to keep clean.

I saw my local shoe store has this machine called imbox that gives them a protective spray for £4. So given that a test on the Timberlands as already had to clean one oil stain from them!

only time i had DMs squeak, when not the "rubber on polished tiles" scenario, was when the sole got a split/slit in it, maybe had something to do w/ the air pockets in the sole.

OP Have you tried walking barefoot to see if it is perhaps your foot that squeaks.

The DM's I got 2 years ago were a disappointment, being heavy and not comfortable for me.

I bought a cheap knock off pair from Ebay last year for £25 or something and they have been fine for a year and still are. I doubt very much I'll spend nearly 200 on a pair from here now.

No way I could wear anything like DMs. They look so uncomfortable and heavy. But then again.. I have **** feet

They're not heavy, they are light and once broken in they are comfy, but you have to get past the stiff leather part.

I did find mine comfy but I'd want DM/Solovair leather to be more supple especially around the top of the foot where it's constantly flexing. The sides can be stiffer that's fine.

Wouldn't mind another pair but I'm not paying £180 for a pair of shoes.

A proper made in England, goodyear welted DM/Solovair will last a lifetime. I send my shoes for refurb every 3 or 4 years (worn every day for work) at a grand cost of....£60. They put a new base on and don't need to worn in again.
