Dubstep thread

What do you all think of this?

(sorry for crappy quality, best I could find on youtube)

personally really liking it, seems to split opinions quite a lot though, hopefully it will get released soon...

The lack of 'proper' dubstep in this thread is shocking.
The endless remixes can get a little samey... but what would you class as 'proper' dubstep? It's changed quite a bit over the last 10 years, and there are now quite a few different kinds of dubstep... Some of it is awesome, while some of it is awful...

Would you class this as dubstep?

I could go on and on.

drumstep: drum and bass with a dupstep bassline?

In fact I agree with this and it's mostly Drumstep posted in this thread.

one of my fav drumstep tunes is

I appreciate its mainstream, and pendulum is 17 year olds dubstep wannabe wet dream! This remix however blew the subs up in my car and I never ever skip it when it pops up on random (although I turn the volume down)

another highly sexy tune that I ski to all the time

Any of you guys into DJing dubstep?

Just getting into it but really struggling to find full length tracks in the way you get with other genres. Full length trance tracks will have proper drum intro/outro so you can mix seamlessly, but dubstep songs just seem to start with the synth/bass. Are they all like this or are there full length tracks like i've described out there?

I'm yet to receive my mixer from a very crap company.

But I think you need to skip past the drop into the main beat and mix from there. It's quite hard from what I understand the mix the song directly before the drop unless it has some snare snare at the beginning.

I will have flick through this thread tomorrow, don't often come into this section...

The more coki the better tbh, never fails to impress :) Gonna get some CDJ's and have a mess about with dubstep, been into it for years now but sold my record decks time back, should have kept 'em ready for my journey into dubstep!

And 2 tunes with the same name but totally different angles
