Dubstep thread

Not really dubstep, but has a slight dubstep hat sound to it at some points.

Cool track.

I quite like that tune, heard it on R1 driving home the other day.

Trancestep lol I thought the same, I like the off key minor bassline (it's a bit soft though) and the 3rd beat hihat in every bar gives it that dubstep feel.

Bet there will be some good remixes of that toughened up a bit :)

cant wait to see skrillex in brum end of the month :D

SUKH KNIGHT is coming to the club in town, should be a good night :)

Why is it silly? They have a distinct "dubstep" sound surely?

No dub, no two step beat, no dubstep. That band is extremely like a cross between the prodigy and pendulum if anything. So some drum and bass elements but a pretty tenuous link. The kind of publications reviewing that band says it all.

Drumstep is stuff from Heist, Original Sin, Taxman, Distorted Minds, Hazard etc.

I'm a bit behind in years with dnb but those artists making drumstep...

Am I on the right wavelength mind, cuz to me drumstep has a specific drum pattern and most of them boys used to make straight dnb, jump up to an extent i guess... Are they making drum and bass with the drumstep drum pattern now then? Basically sped up dubstep percussion? lol I need check some of their new stuff. Drumstep is ok but a bit of a fad IMO.

Don't give up! We can save the thread. :p

It also confuses the hell out of me too, Drumstep is just another name for 'Clownstep' but it's risen in popularity. It's just a Drum & Bass style beat over a half time bassline so it sounds like someone is playing Drum & Bass drums over a Dubstep bassline. That's how I see it anyway, there's so many subgenres now it's hard to point out what's what.

Dubstep has become the next Happy Hardcore, years ago EVERYTHING would get a Happy Hardcore DONK DONK DONK remix. Now everything is getting a WIBBLE WOBBLE BUZZ FART remix and I HATE IT.

Please don't tell me you actually like that nasty sounding bassment jaxx remix lol

My team leader has it as his ringtone, it makes me want to claw his eyes out.

This is probably my favourite dubstep remix. It's a proper reinterpretation of the song rather than a rehash.

Cant go wrong with anything by digital mystikz.

Coki's remix of gangster for life of course is right up there :)

There's other spin offs though, deeper still.. Jamie Woon, Night Air, ramadanman remix...

(720p it for qualitaaay)

And thinking about it, THEEEEE best remix for me just HAS to be the Burial remix of Jamie Woon - Wayfairing Stranger. 1000000 times better than the original its THAT good imo.

Beautiful

First heard that Burial remix a good few years ago and it sounds great. Jamie Woon is a great artist and his own right and tracks like Night Air and his upcoming album have more of a Burial sound to them.

Burial's stuff all sounds the same to me. Ghost Hardware has that two step swagger and reverb echo vocal cuts the whole way through it. Not a bad album. The whole thing plays together very nice and is easy listening to relax to. But samey.
