Ducati 1098 S vs Ducati 848 Evo

Well, I went to see it and now I know she is mine I will post up the advertisement pictures :) So no one else will snap it up hehe.

I put down the deposit last night, hopefully pick it up on the weekend :)

The main selling points for me was the sheer amount of extras the previous owner has installed. The wheels alone cost £2000, not to mention the Renthal sprocket carrier and Tsubaki chain, all the CF tinsel as well. Absolute tons of extras. And all original parts replaced comes in 2 boxes hehe! Bargain of the century if you ask me.

And now going to be a...

YEA BABY!

Gorgeous enough to have in your house as an ornament, Uber cool & a Bazillion man points awarded.

Ooooo, man points!

I have to admit, I am like a child right now at work, I work with 5 other guys as part of a in house IT team, none of these geeks know about bikes so me talking about it every 5 mins has become rather dull and now to the point that when I mention it, I have to get a round of tea in... I love tea... So that has backfired :P

Either way, 2 boxes of spare goodies come with it as well... All day sunday will be spent riding :D

You wait till they hear that dry clutch there'll swear it's knackered. :p

Already been through that with them on my 748, which has no clutch cover at all, all snazzed out with a very sexy pressure plate, springs and collars. So it makes one hell of a rattle :D

My best Duke story is when out with 2 mates on Dukes, Once I'd topped out they just ripped past me & as me mate Craig swung in front of me loads of these orange little rocks hit me.
When I caught up to them at the stop we was going to Craigs wadding in his tail pipe had got so hot it was making Glass & shooting it out the back. + + :p

Jesus! That is awsome! But so dangerous, but so funny...

Your smiley combinations is exactly what I would have expressed haha.

Bike safe and sound at home...

3 moans though!

1) Weather was ****! Tipping it down :( 40 odd miles in it was nogt fun, couldn't see a thing on the M3!

2) Between 2,5k revs and 4k revs, holding the throttle between that range seems to make the bike jerk a lot! Might be me, might be the chain, either way, something needs to be adjusted.

3) The DDA USB stick is MISSING!!!!! I got back hoping to stick the USB and become all geeky looking at results from my first ride... Nope, not plugged in under the cowel, not with my extras ect ect. Going to be phoning first thing tomorrow thats for sure!

I need to really get the bike out in the dry before I put a full opinion down on it.

Can't deny the power delivery is something else, pulling from 70 in 6th gear is just too much fun!!! Even made the rear fish hehe

First ride out in the rain with all those torques must have been hair raising to say the least. :D
It's warming up Wednesday so not long to wait for a decent tyre warming session.
Oh & of course More pics.

Taking it to work today in the hop that the sun will dry up the roads enough for a little blast this evening after work. I'm impatient :)

And yes, very hair raising lol.

Lovely bike that :)

The jerking sounds like a partial throttle fuelling issue. You get it to some degree on most FI bikes. A dyno session and power commander can improve things, or you might just have to ride round it.

Well, at the after leaving my house, about 3 miles down the road, at traffic lights, blipped the throttle and the bike cut out.

So yea, something is playing foul here.

I will check the plugs on the weekend, my understanding is it has been sat in the dealership for a long time, they stuck it on the optimate and it was green all over the board so can't be the battery.

Not to mention, it has **** fuel in it at the moment, Morrisons own bog standard unleaded. Not the crispy tasty Shell V Power I normally use :(

Hah, its probably fine, but it is living up to the Ducati stereotype!

/looks fondly at clockwork reliable GSXR1000 in garage ;)

:D its a Ducati if it did not have some kind of problem just after you bought it I would have taken it back!

Very jealous though, looks great!
