Dune (2020) - Denis Villeneuve

Why didn't Dr yeuh use the tooth poison himself? Had the perfect opportunity.
He may have suspected the Baron would be far more cautious of him than an incapacitated Duke who had been searched, also knowing that the Baron would be likely to want to gloat over his enemy which means likely being closer.
If nothing else he may have suspected that despite any deal that the baron or his men would just kill him, whilst the baron would want to see the Duke suffer in person.

I think he indicates he knows that she's already dead, with a line about them taking her apart like a doll iirc.
But still seemed surprised when the bad guy said that she was dead. He was holding out for it. It was a convenient plot piece and agreed, it was a bit lazy and sloppy

This is definitely a sub-plot that was far better in Lynch's Dune, adequate time put to it without being obvious on an initial viewing. Dean Stockwell will always be my Yueh :D

I noticed we were pre-shipping this at work about a week or two before Dune dropped :D Think it was them that did Atlantic Rim at same time as Pacific Rim too.

yeah most of their films are total garbage but occasionally they can produce a fun one. I suspect they dont get sued cos nobody believes its gonna stop a new corporate vehicle being set up for the next pic....

Piter de Vries stabs him in the back, both in book and movie.

Piter De Vries could have still installed his own poison tooth and neatly solved this book and film plot hole with some simple BASIC coding.

Baron_Dead=FALSE
DO UNTIL Baron_Dead=TRUE
IF Leto_plan_still_a_goer=TRUE THEN GOSUB(Wait_For_Leto)
ELSE
IF PdV_stabbed_in_back_in_front_of_Baron THEN GOSUB(Bite_Tooth_Anyway)
Baron_Dead=TRUE
EXIT
ELSE
IF Leto_plane_still_a_goer=FALSE THEN GOSUB(Bite_Tooth_Anyway)
Baron_Dead=TRUE
END IF
LOOP
IF PdV_Alive=TRUE AND Baron_Dead=TRUE THEN GOSUB (Remove_poison_tooth)

The baron wants plausible deniability.
If a truthsayer asks him he can safely say I didn't kill anyone ... The film completely glossed this over. Vladimir is a genius tactician. That doesn't come across at all in the film.

I know you know that. I just quoted your post :p

Ha ha...how dare you assume what I know :D

I think they sort of address it in the ornithopter when they're taking Paul and Jessica, just not directly around the Baron.

Is that simple though? What if he was asked did you have them killed?

I'm literally paraphrasing the book :p The main Harkonnen characters basically scheme to kill everyone and each other every other page. So i guess it must have some merit to it.

ive totally mislead you on this im sorry i was completely worng

its the death of Jessica and Paul he wants no knowledge of....
i apologise for my stupidity. Take me to the desert to die in the belly of a worm.
