I dont think you meant to quote me, nothing you just said is really relevant as I responded to someone saying the [current] consoles dont use DX, and I said yes they do. The xbox original isn't a current console hence it wasn't mentioned; although it is also implied it was used for this as I mentioned where the name of both consoles came from

. What we have always seen is that newer versions of the API drives ati & nvidea to produce cards that support it. MS made a huge mistake making Dx10 Vista only as most people and companies have just skipped Vista straight to Win7. Those suggesting that Dx11 is irrelevant will be right in the short term, as most people now are on Dx10 gpu's and uptake will take a few years to filter in to generic home PCs
