Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

Thanks, I didnt know that. My brother said the only way to get a bow was by doing a really hard challenge in the Bozak horde.

Just spent about half an hour trying to unlock a hard lock on a police van with enemies constantly spawning next to it :mad:

. It would be easy in coop a the other people could distract them, but in sp its a right PITA.

I wouldn't wory about missing a police van. In one of the missons you'll come across an area that has crap loads of police vans and they're all next to each other.

Just modded my game and holy **** the difference is night and day texture wise. How do you guys take ingame screenshots? I'll post up a comparison.

I was not aware there were any texture mods for this game?

Anyways, I use Steam overlay to take screens. Make sure to check 'save high quality version' in your preferences.

I have started this game with a friend and it is a very fun game. I love trying to dropkick zombies from the top of a building.

There's tons of different texture mods out there. The one I have now is the best yet (although I've only tried a few, link to the mod is below).

Yeah please post the mod, it looks great but it has a lot of blurry textures. How bad is the performance hit with it?

Not much of a hit, though it is slightly lower overall (I think - been awhile since I've played without it). And the mod makes everything sharper - in the vanilla game everything has been softened, the mod takes the softness away. More pics.

its a shame the dying light modding comunity isn't bigger, seems like you could do a lot with it and it being a zombie game you'd think people would be all over it

Ah ok. Those aren't really texture mods, though. They're the same textures, just using SweetFX/Reshade to improve clarity/sharpness and shader values.

glad I picked this up on sale..I had played it on my ps4

but on the pc its still a lovely looking game with a much improved frame rate!

overjoyed to buy a bow from the fishing village in the first part of the game..now I can hunt Rais' thugs properly..easy enough to make arrows as well

Amazing game and on PC even better. 60fps + mouse control + headphones = brilliant atmosphere and gameplay.

Was thinking of picking this up, been available for £15 for a while now. But I heard the story is a bit silly and that Dying Light 2 is in the making. I thought I would wait and just play Skyrim Special Edition until then, plus got Dishonoured 2 coming out shortly.

Do you guys play it with friends or alone? Is the game geared more towards playing alone or with friends?

the story is a bit silly? its about zombies so you can hardly complain about it being far fetched!

the story is merely a mechanism to send you leaping around the rooftops, drop kicking zombies or dismembering them with blades

a lot of the missions are just designed to get you to scale tall buildings or scour parts of the map..its one of the joys about moving around the city, its so fluid. you level up your agility by moving and leaping and you level up your power by smashing zombies with any objects you can pick up..it encourages you to do such things rather than skulk around back lanes and hiding...you only do that at night!!

Not sure how the game being about zombies stops it from having a good story.

I have been playing it sp and coop and i'm enjoying both just as much as the other. Its not geared toward one or the other really.

BTW the dlc is half price at the moment for halloween. I bought the Ranger bow dlc pack as it was only 99p, so I just sold a load of cards and got it free. The bow is awesome, really fun to use. You can also craft elemental arrows for it, like explosive arrows, which are awesome!
