i cant run it, gives an error about the multiplier or something (cant recall exactly - at work atm)

i read somewhere it was to do with speedstep? but thats been off/on (always off now) to try and get it to run.

read somewhere else that TAT only worked on intel chipsets?

i'll have to give it another go when i get back =)

Not really if anything they dont clock as good,but ive be lucky with mine,the reason i have 4gb was for vist but scince it`s so buggy ive takin it of my pc.

what voltages do u have going through your NB ect?

im quite sure im not going to get 4ghz.. but not gonna stop me tweeking abit more lol

But in real life a Q6600 clocked to 3GHz is better then a E6850 at 4ghz??

Also, in games which are quad core enabled. Would you say the quad would be better? IF you were to add the ghz up its 12ghz vs 8ghz. I know it dont work quite like that. But surely the quad is still better?

Nice clock clone. Oh and by the way I can't run TAT on my 680i board. The moment you try to run it it errors:
error enumerating on demand clock modulation support. Terminating tool.

What the hell does that mean?

the dual cores higher clocks are a definate advantage in certain situations (mostly games) more cores win for encoding ect.

untill both high clocks and cores are doable (single dye Quad anyone?) then the choice is still based on what your going tobe doing with the chip

I think you will see the quads coming into their own as the newer generation of games start supporting Quad Core. I think Lost Planet had higher frame rates for quad cores, but on the older games like HL2 you can see even the E6750 caning the Q6700.

getting there slowly

dropping LDT from x5 to x4 seemed to help a lot for some reason (anyone know what it is/does? lol)

not quite stable though died in orthos after 30ish mins

cant be bothered to do more for now, back to 3.5 for abit of gaming lol

edit: btw clone, my chip is the same batch as yours
