How the hell do you lose a monitor?

And if its being redelivered they obviously know where it is... but at least the rest of the PC arrived. Would have been far more annoying the other way around.

I solved the pc probe II problem. Speedfan does not report the same 256c abonrmal results occasionally. I am getting 52c with dual prime at 3001mhz, fsb333, memory running at 833 5-5-5-15-2t. I am really pleased with the result as the PC is running and seems to be completely stable and yet it is bearly audible above the ambient noise in the room. (Ninja plus cooler, P180 case with fans set to low). :D

Red=cpu Green=mobo
The downward spikes on the red line are the cpu temp dipping when i distracted it from prime by starting the image programme

are these e6600 retail fans meant to stop and start when they please? O_O ive heard about the fan slowing down and stuff when its not needed but stopping? is that normal?

God I hate Citylink!.........the service from Citylink in my area just continues to be terrible.

Must be a Northeast thing, fella. They're rubbish in Newcastle too. More than once I've been told I wasn't in when I was sitting reading a book or browsing the net. My study is above the front door - I watched the old delivery guy walk up and put a card through the door without knocking or hitting the ding-a-ling. New bloke delivered my monitors last week though and he gave the doorbell a good hard jab (ooer) so maybe it's getting better here......

I find this problem with our postman too. The git just leaves a card without ringing the bell. How hard is it to find a doorbell! Some of the royal mail parcel guys like leaving stuff out on the front door in a thunderstorm too, nice. Citylink do usually ring the doorbell, but a lot of the time, if nobody is in, they take it back to the depot and lose it for a few days.

On another note, I just tested Quake 2 out on my E6600 and the timedemo got a score of 785fps :p

I can remember when I used to go OOOOOH and AAAAAAH at folk who could get 50 fps in Q2...... do people still play that? Memories flooding back now.... :)

Q2 ah one of the first games where people started to worry about fps - the higher you got it the easier it was to do some jumps... ;)

I remember on my K6 400 and voodoo pushing around 70 fps, mental rig....when I get my new conroe build ill load it - be funny watchingthe timedemo1 fly!

Pah! Intel PIII 400, Voodoo2 SLi [2*12Mb] and 256Mb RAM. Now THAT was a top gaming rig. And yes, I still play Q2 over the LAN with my nephew. It's a classic.

lol, I remember always being the first on the server when the map changed and everyone used to wish they had my machine - cost me a fortune too, more than an equivalent top conroe spec today!

roll on my new build when I can decide on the mobo

I agree I would have loved a rig like that when it first came out :)
I remember breaking 100fps before anyone else in my clan. The stella that was consumed that night!!! Those were the days.

That's where I'm at. Got everything but the board. My problem is I have one eye on Vista, Crysis and Flight SimX. I need a MB that has 3 PCI-E slots and supports both Crossfire and SLi because I won't know which way I'm going until DX10 cards come out and they get compared. Third slot is for a physics card as it's the way it seems to be going. Also needs to support quad core, still have IDE for the optics and also clock well.

Christ I'm fussy.

The Chips are in, and the OS is out.

Now the OS is in and the GFX card is out.

AARRRRRRRGGGGGG.

I understand its common warehouse policy but it is very frustrating when I'm spending so much.

Changed the GFX card to one that is in stock, wish me luck...

Val.
