Earthquake in Japan....9.0...ouch!

Well, apparently there's a 'Supermoon' on March 19th, and events such as these have happened before the 'Supermoon's' show date.
Seriously, these are so common for Japan it's a non issues really.

It would be more apparent that the eastern edge of the Pacific tectonic plate is shifting hence major earthquakes at the south western (Christchurch) and north western (Tokyo) ends.
Pretty sure whole areas being swamped with water and whirlpools and waves hitting everything that faces the pacific is not a non issue lol.

Depends how deep and what type of earthquake it is. That one looks big on the scale but could have been deep and not therefore caused much destruction.
This new one was only 20 miles deep and is going to have a huge effect on the whole of asia/pacific

Earthquakes are common in Japan, they sit in the so called ring of fire. But not of this magnitude, its the highest recorded there since records began. It is in no way an insignificant event.

An 8.8 Magnitude earthquake is unbelievably more powerful than the one you linked to.

OMG at the massive whirlpool. I have never seen anything like that before, well maybe in some sf movies.
