Easiest way to flash your X800GTO2 via dvd \ cd

it is the sapphire GTO2 yes ??

does it confirm a succesful flash ?? if using my boot iso (which is for CD\DVD not floppy) are you selecting option 1 ??

yes did it all correct. it was a cdr i used. worked fine :)

i eventually gave up, and installed the latest graphics card drivers. before i was trying to get 16pipelines before i installed any drivers. after which i tried again and it worked fine. now have 16pipelines.

This is interesting to know why :/

and my card is now clocked up to 565/565

That's it so far. ATI tool kept showing artifacts at less than the last set of tests you see when I tested with ATI toolat first, and for some reason later on, it tested fine and ran all benchmarks ok!?!?!?!?

I am however well chuffed with this beast!!! :D

Rest of machine spec:

Hi there guys, long time buyer and first time poster here.

I just ordered a GTO² for myself last night, and with any luck it will arrive tomorrow morning. I'm going to use the ISO that locutus12 here has kindly provided, as I've heard nothing but good things about it here and over at the forums on AnandTech.

I'm totally excited about getting hold of one of these cards, and I'll be sure to post some benchmarks as soon as possible.

My current system is as follows: -

Asus K8V-SE Deluxe (Socket 754, AGP)
AMD Athlon64 3400+ Newcastle (no OC)
1024MB generic PC2700 RAM (no OC)
Chaintech 6600GT 128MB AGP (164/1130)

I've not run 3D Mark 05 in ages but I get ~9000 in 3D Mark 03.

I'm switching out my Asus board for the S754/PCI-E Gigabyte board that's still in stock, and I'm going to run the X800 GTO² with the rest of the hardware as-is. Do you guys think I'll still benefit from the performance boost considering I'm still using crap memory?

Your spec is nigh on identical to mine!!!!

I have the same Gigabyte mobo, processor, gcard but you only have PC2700 memory???

You'll get a big-ass improvement, but you could pick up some Geil Value memory for about £65 for 2x512mb PC3200. Good value stuff indeed. That'd also give a nice increase in performance.

By the way, welcome to the forums!!!

Hehe, I re-added my post because of the reply. I thought that this thread was dead now so I took it to the active benchmarking thread.

Very relieved to hear that you have practically identical hardware and get a "big ass" improvement.

My memory does suck, but unfortunately, I can't really justify spending the money to upgrade it right now. I could up it to 1.5GB for cheap, but in terms of replacing what's there I'm planning to buy an M2 socket motherboard when they come out and they will require DDR2 or DDR3 to please the memory controller, so upgrading it now would be a waste really.

Thanks a lot! :D I've been buying from OCuk exclusively for like a year now, I figured it was about time I made a move on the forums. :)

its an ISO, winrar picks them up as an archive, just burn it with nero as if you were burning an image file.

Important. The Initial Flashrom Had An Error When Flashing Back To 12 Pipes, This Has Been Fixed But You Will Need To Redownload The Iso And Make A New Boot Cd. Sorry For The Trouble. the same links are fine as ive swapped the files out.
