Easyriders Cinema Room

Major change to the way in which I view my movies.

I have been streaming to my PS3 from my Windows Home server but the lack of menu's and search functions along with NO MKV support are starting to grate.

So I have just bought a Playon HD Mini

I will post a HD video of it in action when I install it this week.

I have created my YAMJ JUKE BOX ready

Will be interesting to see how it performs.. :)

that looks pretty nice easyrider - how customisable is the views / menus etc on that player? It looks good, but tbh doesn't look as good as some of the xmbc skins out there - but i was just wondering if there are more options / skins / mods available for it.

certainly whips using a ps3 though!! :D

Its fine for my needs and I quite like the simplicity of it.

I'm watching films not looking at fancy back drops :p

The cost of the unit was 79 quid and has awsome support and development with firmware updates.

It was a no brainer for me.

It gets delivered Tomorrow so I will post my findings of it.

Wow great setup, my room i have spare isnt as large as yours.

I need some advice for the thread that i have made

What kind of sound deading did you use, are there any pointers or regrets you have?

thanks for sharing.

Missed this post. Apologies

I made some Bass traps and acoustic panels using speaker material and rockwool on wooden frames. They are in this thread with pics of me making them.

I need to get around to buying a bigger rug :o

Completely agree! Easyrider, now that you've had time to settle in and get used to it, is there anything you plan on adding/changing/wished you done differently etc?

Looks amazing.

TBH...I wouldn't change anything...I had a clear vision from the start of what I wanted...Everything just seem to fit into place:)

Cheers ManCuBuS

I dabbled with PS3 then playon HD

I now run 24/7 XBMC and windows home server. Fast, reliable and hassle free.

Looks cool too..I have had zero issues with it...Its robust when scanning through films and just works.

The backbone is WHS currently sitting at 12TB...Its the centre of my digital world and don't know how I managed without it.:D

So do you have a collection of Blu Rays and DVDs or do you store films on a hard drive?

Everything has been ripped to the Server and is streamed. 12TB in total

I hate disc's they collect dust and need putting into the drive to play :)

Streaming is where its at.
