Ed China leaving Wheeler dealers :(

Be honest guys, the Wheeler Dealer side was always a joke, we watched it for the repairs :D

IMHO Ant is at least as good as Ed China, probably better and some of the new episodes have been great (Mike Brewer Aside).

Haha aye mike brewer is a grade a bell end.

is anyone showing/repeating the 2018 series ... completely passed me by too.

all on nowtv ... actually pretty good .. escort cosworth - more engineering stuff, mike seems toned down, for the combined usa market ?
they even include labour in their costing calculations
...cool - taking the car to a wind-tunnel 94lb force @100mph from wing ... couple of bags of sand ?

Mike isn’t toned down enough, he’s still in the show! :p

Interesting episode but still can’t stand Brewer so won’t be too sad if I miss the rest tbh.

I'd assumed the show had ended with ed China leaving. Will have to check it out.

I have to confess the formula is kind of ludicrous though.

1)Buy an old classic car

2) get a dealer with links to the trade to source a load of cheap parts.

2) Get a fully qualified mechanic with access to a kitted out workshop to repair the car.

3) Mike/Ed drive around going "wow this cars awesome now"

4) sell the car then "Claim" you made a profit on it assuming nobody's time is worth anything and the workshop costs nothing to run/rent

:D

I was annoyed when Ed left but Ant is really good. The whole this about dumbing down the mechanical side of things was clearly just an alibi for Ed leaving because he was sick of Mikes ****. Watching all the latest episodes now and it seems like there's exactly the same, if not more interesting stuff.

Wonder if they realised from the backlash to Ed leaving that people were watching the show for the mechanical side and not Mike so they readjusted.

I've noticed Mike isn't quite so hands on as he has been before too. He used to do some of the work himself but hardly does any these days.

I said this before when I watched with Ant in the show, he's a great replacement imo, He seems to go in much more indepth detail when doing the works on a vehicle.

Shame Ed's youtube series and himself in general has gone quiet as of late.

Damn, came in expecting someone to have posted the next episode of Edd’s new series (::mad:

Doesn’t ring a bell to be honest (I rarely watch TV tbh) but I’ll look that up, cheers. :)
Similar format to Wheeler Dealers, but a much better show with a much better presenter. Focuses more on history and technical, than Mike doing fake wheeler dealing.

I guess they are getting USA broadcast revenue from this, but basing it there does detract from its UK relevance,
with awkward/stilted conversations between mike and shops/seller, also massive aftermarket parts availibility vs uk (nice to see pelican parts though) -
don't the USA already have similar programs, with technical content ?
