Edinburgh mini-meet - 18th November **Now with Photos!**

I'm afraid i may have to be taken off the list too. Found out at training last night that my rugby match on saturday has a 10:30am kickoff which may be pushing it getting back from edinburgh allowing for any bad traffic.
 
So who is all going ?

Where are we going ?

Can i come ?

Is anyone coming from the falkirk area as i will just be getting a train to the waverly station. If no one else is going from my area i might stioll come along and meet up.

It will be a laugh. My train leaves Newcastle at 14:40 and I sahould be at Edinburgh about an hour and a half later. I should be able to hook up with everyone by about half 5.

We need more people ...... come on !

And yes Dez, you can indeed come. :)
 
I'm hoping Vixen will poke her head in here shortly because she knows the name of the restaurant that we're going to, and I don't.

We are definately going to The Festival Tavern, but not sure if that's a good place for us to start off. I don't have the local knowledge to advise on that.

Anyone who needs my mobile, email me (in sig) with yours and I'll pass it on.

I expect to be on site by 10:00 and probably clear just after lunch, so I'll be checked in to the hotel and available mid afternoon.

I can't actually remember the name of the vegetarian place, but it's really way too cold to be walking half way across town. There is a pizza hut on Lothian Rd, about 2mins walk from the Festival Tavern, and I could probably find something in there. If I'm driving though I can't park until 6.30pm, so I think I'm best getting food before coming out.
Feek - if there's anything else I need to contribute can you let me know on msn and I'll reply when I can :)
 
Right well i finish work about 6 and then i need to go home get showered and head through so i realisticly wont be at waverly until about 8ish. I know where lothian rd is though so if i get amobile i can meet up.

Why dont we head for a pub crawl down the grass market ?

Is there not any gigs on like at the Liquid Rooms or that we could go too ?

I dunno im just coming through for a drink and a bit of a mash up. I can always get the last bus home at 3am from Waverly Bridge. But if u get stuck i might need a floor to sleep on :D

I sent a text to my local wireless station this morning.

"Dear Et. Tomorrow I'm flying to Edinburgh and will be having a jolly night out with some chums. Knowing how investigative you are, can you find out what the weather's going to be like tomorrow evening in that part of Bonny Scotland please"

Five minutes later I got the rundown live on air (they love me at the local wireless station). 4C during the day on Friday, -3C overnight and 7C on Saturday so Vixen is right, it's going to be damn cold.

So, I'll go with her suggestion of a Pizza Hut for scoff, but I'll be ready for beer before that for anyone who's about in mid afternoon.

Feel free to email me for my mobile number and text me when you're ready. Vixen, you said about car parking, but is there anywhere near the hotel you could park earlier than 18:30? I don't know what the regulations are in that area but if you can make it earlier then that'd be good.

One more sleep (and an early night) to go :)

Well it's been ages since I've posted on these forums as I've been doing a whack of studying and then my keyboard went and knacked up on me for good a week or 2 back. (My new one arrived yesterday) :D

Anyroad, I've just had a call from the one they call Von Smallhausen who has just told me about this meet. Unfortunatly, I have to work on Saturday and that means getting up at 4.30 am.

But .......

I suppose I could make the effort and come along to get wrecked/sloshed/merry/tipsy if someone can come up with a good line that I could feed my boss :D

Oh Feek, the Festival Tavern is not too bad but it is spitting distance from Lothian Road which is renowned for a bit of scrapping between lads who have too much testosterone kicking about :D

Feek - I can pay to park just outside my boyfriends flat until 6.30, but it's 40p per 15mins, so I don't want to be there for too long.
