EE - 4G

Question.

Are they going to shaft 4G users with -

A. Stupidly high 4G data plans

B. Still having a 500MB/750MB data allowance

?
 
Of course it will be a premium service

And I very much doubt it'll have stupid low limits seeing as EE are advertising it for streaming movies and playing online games.

That is their Fibre service which they show doing that.

edit:

Although they do mention it on 4GEE as well. I don't think that line will prevent limits coming in.

At the moment it is 250MB, 750MB, 1.5GB.

Which would make low limits pointless. Not saying it'll be unlimited. But I very much doubt it will be like 3G limits.
 
Been thinking, i think £50 per month would be justifiable if speeds are anythingover 3 megabits consistent as it would cover
Broadband
Line rental
Call package
Mobile contract

Would definitely be able to combine all those into one bill
 
Need 3 to get this asap. Right now I'm struggling to stream youtube videos. Having to wait for buffering. 1mbit inet.. I loathe you
 
So it appears that T-Mobile customers (possibly Orange) are going to be using EE network for 3G data. I just received a text message this morning from T-Mob:

Great news, the company behind T-Mobile and Orange is launching a new brand called EE that will offer the UK's first 4G mobile network and fibre broadband. You'll still be a T-Mobile customer with the same great benefits but soon you'll use EE's 3G network so you'll see EE on your phone screen.

For those half way through a contract with T-Mobile, will they be able to upgrade early once 4G is available in their city?

Couldn't find it anywhere on the EE website, sorry if it's been asked already.

No one knows yet. I would be surprised if someone only say 12 months into a 24 month contract could upgrade. If they are clever they will have a 4G add on for existing tariffs.

I agree with this statement. 40-50quid a month. But would have to have at least 10gig cap before people could justify canceling their line rental broadband package.
 
£50 a month for landline, mobile and broadband ? I guess you want a subsidised handset with that too ?

I think thats somewhat optimistic. I wouldn't be surprised to see an EE contract for 4g for £15 a month alone, let alone the rest of it.

I think it's fair, on 3 PAYG I get all that for 15 per month, I don't think they will charge 35£ pm just for 4g on top
 
got a text today saying next time i reboot my phone it will show EE as the provider

low and behold, i am now EE :)

EE have sunk £1.5bn in to this network, and they are a long way from the end of the spending. They aren't going to give it away for buttons, I can't see how they will be able to afford to do that.

We already know that you'll need a T-Mobile/Orange contract + EE 4g contract so whatever your T-Mobile/Orange contract is now the 4g thing will be added on top.

So lets say you've got a good contract now - say £15 a month the whole 4g shebang is going to be £10 on top at the very least - we still don't know about limits yet either.
