Going by the preview vids I would imagine bad to hilarious:) I would not have it any other tbh.
 
Reinstalled X3:TC to get in the mood. :p XTC mod also installed, with be interesting to see how it has changed since the alpha/beta days...

Really looking forward to this now, remembering how much time I sunk into X3:R and X3:TC now!
 
I own X3:TC but I played it for an hour, the main reason being I have a mouse and it was just a bit rubbish on a mouse.

I guess I'd need a joystick or pad X Rebirth, otherwise I'd hit the same wall/issue.

A bit rubbish on a mouse...try using the command interface with a gamepad.

AFAIK...X:Rebirth doesn't have this "boxed universe" aka small sectors - it's far more open now (although I can't actually link to the source of this).

For what its worth, it was a deal-breaker on the past X games for me too, so I'm hopeful for this version...

X Series is amazing, the games themselves are good quality when compared to the price, you're ending up with over 100s of hours worth of game play when compared to some other games. Worth every penny!

Absolutely ! My experience from X3TC is that it's what I would consider a proper PC game. I mean I had to read a manual to find out most of what I know and even then I only scratched the surface. How many other games are like that these days ? Not to mention I could navigate the menu system entirely with my keyboard. You need to set aside a bit of spare time to learn before you play and the older I get the more I want a game to make me think and work my brain.

Just the other day I uninstalled all the dross games I'm fed up with. Black Ops, Saints Row and Borderlands are done, childish BS. I like something tactical, a game which makes me think before jumping in. I guess my tastes are changing again.

Just how I feel pretty much, I like something to suck me on. And I know how you feel, it's either that or we're getting old mate!
 
I can remember when first starting to play X3:R. Game on my pc, laptop on with FAQ/online guides, and instructions wedged under my keyboard to read the controls!

Might re-reinstall the game. I added the XTC mod and it just seems so slow to get started and I can't find any cheats for it to get a better ship quickly :P Need some quicker gratification, not got the time I used to have to sync into it!
 
I remember getting X-beyond the frontier when it first came out all them years ago when I was about 14 and at that time you had to buy seta in the game you didn't start with it like you do now days.

My self I have never had to read up on anything in the X games it isn't hard maybe I just come from a different generation were we had to think a bit about just getting games to work :) I am planning at some point to replay X-BTF and X-Tension to see what the patches did to the games.

As for rebirth it looks great and the music in the trainer is fantastic I hope they have the same music in the full game.
 
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but it looks like it will also be a 64bit only game as well as using multiple cores on the CPU.
That might be the first time ever for a game?

That is great news, the previous games suffered badly from not using the CPU well (and of course this is a CPU heavy series of games).
