It's been a few months since I've bought this and the DLC but I'm terrified to start it, it looks very intimidating!
Christ, and I thought I was over-levelled finishing the base game at 155.
I started the DLC last night. Good grief it is kicking my butt. It is such an atmospheric game though, and I run it with the unlock framerate mod which hovers around 120fps for me. I'm hoping those extra frames help me with my god-awful gaming reactions! It's been a few months since I've bought this and the DLC but I'm terrified to start it, it looks very intimidating!

I started it and it's going exactly how I expected it to go, I must have died about 50 times in 4 hours already. Everywhere I go I get destroyed. It's been a few months since I've bought this and the DLC but I'm terrified to start it, it looks very intimidating!

I tried exploring south of the ruins before the castle but there was a dragon waiting for me there, one shot, and then a crab, one shot, and then I opened a chest and I got trapped in a different area, one shot, everything is very frustrating and confusing. The atmosphere is top notch though.
Not that high, I think I was 180 maybe with a couple of scadutree fragments. Just try to stay on your horse so that you can jump when it does & that helps a lot.How strong do we have to be to kill the wicker men?
Watch a few fightin cowboy videos on YouTube to get you started, he has a full playthrough / beginner guide (It’s what I did) helped me immensely, as there is little to no direction during the beginning.I started it and it's going exactly how I expected it to go, I must have died about 50 times in 4 hours already. Yes. Assuming you picked Vagabond? Is it normal that my character was level 9 when I started the game?
Nope, SamuraiYes. Assuming you picked Vagabond?

I remember the same feeling when I began my playthrough, it's such an expansive world. What starting class did you choose and what is your weapon of choice at the moment? Also, I think it is worth researching how to level, it won't spoil anything and will make your life easier. Typically upgrading vigor and your weapon power will be a solid choice for early game, and then understanding the options will mean you can customise your build for your style. Last tip: understanding loadout is important, if you have too much gear you will be slower (rolling, movement in general) so try and stay nimble. Have fun!About 15 hours in and after a very difficult first day I'm starting to enjoy this!
The world is amazing, it's unlike anything I've seen before. Currently exploring every inch of the Weeping Peninsula area.
Combat is slowly starting to click, only had some trouble with the minor tree boss but I killed him after a few tries.
The problem is that I like exploring every corner of the map so it's gonna take a while for me to finish this![]()

You are doing fine fella, Sammy is a great starter and that katana is bonkers good. Keep endurance tickling along or you will run out of gas when you are swinging away, and when you need to start pivoting to other stats Dex and Bleed will be a couple of areas for you to explore...Thanks!
I started as Samurai and I'm still using the starting weapon. Already leveled my katana to +3, also leveled my chest armor, and all my levels are going to vigor (level 21 atm)
DS3 is very good. DS2 is kind of the black sheep; Miyazaki was not as involved and it is all over the place. If you want to play them all then I'd say plough through DS2 to tick the box, and then savour DS3.I wish I coukd erase part of my brain and start this over again. Such a great game to explore the first time
I've still got DS2 and 3 to play though I guess.
