*** Elden Ring ***

I don't want to see any more of it, TBH. I'll just wait for reviews and players' impressions. I intended to wait till it drops in price a bit but if the general consensus is that it's BB/Sekire level good, I'm getting it.

Never had any issues with souls games on PC other than 1 releasing at locked 720p/30fps which was modded in a day.

The stuttering rumours concern me, I am already sick of stuttering issues on Unreal Engine games. Hopefully Digital Foundry put out a video before launch. If it has any stutter I'm cancelling and going for PS5 - no guarantee Elden Ring servers will be online for PC launch either.

I get where that comment comes from. Easy to forget the mess DS1 was on pc and had to be fixed by the community.

BUT From have released many games since then with excellent performance on PC. Bringing up their single bad port seems like a bad faith argument to me.

DS3 ran well, Sekiro ran well. I'm sure the port won't be bad, and if there are indeed stuttering issues they'll address them quickly.

I'm more concerned whether the game will live up to the immense hype. Hope it will since I really want to play something From style, even though DS is my least favourite of theirs. Fingers crossed.

My guess in that regard is that it wont. Like several recent titles before it, the gaming community has whipped it up into levels of the second coming proportion.

I'm quite glad I've stayed away from the hype the past few months.

I'm hoping it'll just feel mostly like what we've come to enjoy from Fromsoftware, especially combat - which is what I enjoy the most.

Yeah getting a bit sick of all the hype and unrealistic expectations being put on game nowadays

Gamers do it over and over, even after Cyberpunk and the whole "but its CDPR ! They made witcher, they wont let us down!" thing, gamers still stick a game/dev on a pedestal and overhype the next big thing as the next big thing.

yeah it's also all the social media channels around gaming now, so many Twitch streamers and youtube content creators posting content to earn a living, digging in to every bit of details etc. Don't think there's much that can be done about it other than ignore them
