*** Elden Ring ***

I've just started playing this and I need to know how to jump attack while dual wielding with keyboard and mouse. I have 2 greatswords with a strength build but I cannot figure out how to attack with both swords at the same time...

It's absoultely fine with M&Kb. I didn't have any problems all.

As usaul with From games and similar ones, you trade precise directional dodging for better camera control. Peronally, I prefer the tighter camera control you get with M&Kb, but it's horses for courses, I guess.

I'm still stuck on 60 FPS, have I maybe missed something? I've configured the path to the Steam folder and I've copied the "Elden Ring exe" file and renamed it to the "Start protected game" file and I'm getting the online warning when I launch - but still 60 FPS.

Wow. I just find these games so insanely difficult right from the very start. I'm currently getting owned over and over with the enemies wielding the long staff like weapons. I can't dodge them and I can't block them.

Just run past them, get harder, then come back and destroy them :)

Dodging in this game works best when very close to the enemy, and always dodge roll INTO them rather than AWAY.

Cheers.

I'm currently trying to level up a bit by repeating the same section over and over. TBH, I'm not sure what I'm actually meant to be doing as there's no quest line so it's a bit aimless right now.

I've also noticed some severe performance issues where the game freezes for a a few seconds now and again.

Yeah, this is a weird issue I had as well - it mostly went away when I switched to using a controller which is definitely the meta way to play this game.

I ended up using youtube (maybe a little too much) as the game does not hold your hand at all. Worth checking out Vaatividya if you mainly are interested in the lore and Dom's Roundtable if you wanted some more guide like content. Stick with it though - its an incredible game but the learning curve is massively steep.

There's a portal to Caelid in a lake near one of the churches - if you have Torrent then theres a ball trap that you can farm for 2k runes per time, its the quickest early game rune farm by a longshot.

Picked this up today as it was £24.99 on CD keys. First ever souls type game and I'm very impressed with the way it looks and feels.

The combat though.......... **** it's hard. I haven't played a game like this for so long, where you end up replaying the same fights over and over again, to learn the mechanics and perfect your timing. It's brutal. And I love it.

I don't think I'll ever get the appeal of open world games to be honest. I'm only two hours in but just like with the "masterpiece" BOTW I'm finding myself bored with the world already. The dungeons I've found so far (~5ish) have made the chalice dungeons look like hand crafted masterpieces too.

The combat has left a lot to be desired too, it's like the worst aspects of the previous games rolled into one. Ridiculously aggressive enemies, fake out attack patterns, enemies with massive health pools and endless combos, ambush central in the dungeons with a bunch of enemies that bleed you in two rapid hits.

I'll keep going, I've only just activated the level up grace so maybe it'll get better from here, but so far it's almost as disappointing as DS2.

Yea, I'm really struggling with it. I haven't a clue where I'm supposed to be going and every I corner I turn it's, "YOU DIED".

I can see why this would be popular with fans of the genre, but I'm amazed it's so popular generally. The visuals are very dated, too. I want to get into it so I'm going to try Dom's Roundtable as suggested above but I think I may be throwing the towel in if I don't "get it" soon.
