Elden Ring

I found both organically <cough>;)

My character is now almost lvl 60 and I've explored a lot without looking up stuff on the internet. I've only found one staff ( and a crap one at that ) in all that time. Plenty of melee weapons, however. Some really good ones. Still wondering if I've done the right thing rolling with an Astrologer.

same here but level 44. I always play as a warrior type build so thought I would try something different. Good thing is you can respeck your character after beating rennala.

My build is a bit of a battlemage, shield one hand and staff / sword in other.

I've just discovered dual wielding, so rocking a dual Greatsword combo which is much better for me as I rarely if ever block with a shield.

Those blue archer dudes hit incredibly hard, I was riding around and had about 8 giant arrows sticking out of me :p

I got it from here: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/el...579-at-gamivo-3893404?page=9#comment-47005218

The reward points you get for doing various tasks, there's a punch card you have to click to activate in the rewards section on the dashboard before you redeem the code for the game. 6000 points is enough for £5 in xbox credit or you can stack them up and redeem against other things like live, gamepass or vouchers for other shops like Currys etc.
Cheers!

Man this black knife assassin boss is kicking my ass, one shot kill the guy is freaking invisible!

Any tips?

If he is one shotting you I would suggest you need to level up a bit. He is a tricky customer.

I downed him after about 8 attempts at about level 13. I kept my distance and used the columns for cover. Main thing with this guy is to learn his attack pattern and get out of the way. I used lock on to roughly keep him in my sights but remember to break off lock on when you need to retreat. He becomes vulnerable for a brief moment at the end of his main lunge. And if you time it right you can actually back stab or at the very least run in and land a couple of swift light attacks.

You can stagger him with strong attacks.

Main thing with this guy is he heals on critical hits. So trying not to get hit is a primary tactic. Plenty of roll dodging and running off to other side of the room is required.

Really important not to get greedy with your hits. Stay patient, land a couple of light attacks - dodge away and reset ready to go again.

He the guy that starts with like half health?
wolfs are your friend there, made real short work of him with those plus the fire spell from the round table

Not sure what the cave is called. I only did it last night. I don't want to spoil it if you haven't been in there. Once the NPC spawns (the red dude) there is a light going into a cave on the left of you if you approach the ravine from the dragon field.

Went back and did that with a little help from a samurai, couldn’t of done it on my own I don’t think haha (I had already done the cave though).

level 31 now 13 hours in. Just about to have a do at the boss on the bridge I think before the castle.

I still haven’t used any summoning things. Keep forgetting I have them. I only have a couple though, and no wolves.

I came across a great place to farm. I travelled via some kind of portal and there’s a huge dude standing on some steps. I gave him a wide berth an snook off down the hill. Came across a small enemy in dark clothes, moving really slowly. Ran in head on and he jumped in the air and one shotted me. Lol. Ooops. Went back and snook up on him. One backstab and 2 light attacks later he was down and gave me nearly 1100 souls! Turns out there’s about 20 of these guys. If you face them head on they will destroy you easy. But they are slow and really easy to sneak up on. Plus there’s a grace point really close so you can quickly nip back to reset them. Rinse and repeat. I’m gonna farm this bit hard in the next couple of days!!

I love stories like the above. I am nearly 40 hours in and the game is still surprising me with events like that. Pretty incredible I think. Always interesting and exciting. Like botw was I get the comparisons.

Yeah I agree, can see more and more why it’s been getting such high praise.

got to stormveil castle now and wow it’s like a whole other game, back to demon souls vibes with shortcuts etc. I also came across a crucible knight and accidentally cheesed him by running away but he followed me on to a lift which I promptly jumped off, he followed to his death a couple of seconds later :D

I’m level 44 :cry: but playing as a mage so low health and little armour. His back stab is one spotting me.

spells don’t seem to be working so left with my crappy sword. Might have summon some help although doesn’t feel great!

Constantly getting disconnected from the servers on this (PS5), maybe every 20 minutes. Anyone else have or know of any issues?

Been wandering and levelling up since I started I have no idea where I am to go for the main mission/story :D

Follow the arrows from the sites of grace. They'll take you to where you need to be. Of course it's also fine to not do that. I tend to do a bit of both.

I gathered they showed the logical way through the story, but some point in opposite directions :) I still have more levelling to do, need better armour and a better sword first, levelling is a pain now, it's around 20,000 runes per level and farming them is a chore, first world problems eh? :D

They point in different directions because different bosses and quest lines are in different locations. Took me a while to work out what it was telling me!
