Elden Ring

I'm struggling in Raya Lucaria, I need to get a better melee weapon as understandably, magic is a bit moot there.

Have you heard of the katana sword called Moonveil? It scales with INT so if you are magic based it wrecks anything around there. Has bleed on it as well. Someone else recommended it to me and I've been using it a lot when the staff is useless. It's pretty easy to get if you search how. I am in the same area as you.

Yeah, I've conceded the fact I'll have to use some kind of guide but not sought that out yet. Seen people wrecking bosses with this cannon type spell too, it's like a constant light beam.

Beat Godrick tonight. Levelled up my ashes beforehand to +5 which helped a lot. Beat him on my 2’d attempt tonight with a summoned NPC - had something like 5 attempts overall but walked away the other day due to being a bit under powered. Now I didn’t know this but I read today that if you summon help - boss health pools are larger when you fight them.

Previously tonight I also beat an Erdtree burial watchdog.

I’m something like 43 hours in and only beaten one of the Demi-god bosses! I could probably do with tracking down some others but there’s just so much other cool stuff to see and do.

I feel the learning curve on this is about right. Feels a little easier than previous Souls games (perhaps on account of the ability to go off exploring and work around road blocks?) but a fair bit tougher than Demons Souls.

I’m not a veteran souls player by any means but I’m coping and I’m still fully engaged. But then I don’t keep running at something if it’s feeling a bit too tough. I put a pin in it to come back to and wander off and do something else. I think the ability to do this stops it becoming too frustrating and my limited game time is spent achieving something rather than banging my head up a wall because I’m stuck on a boss.

Well spaced grace points also help to stop it being as much of a time sink when you die too.

Yeah my issue was failing to dodge his very first two arrows, then he did the one where they rain down. I haven't actually got within striking distance yet lol, but tbh I was only there by accident so will come back later.

It's really easy to get to him earlier than expected, I think I ended up downing him 3/4th when he's supposed to be much later I believe. I cheesed him tbh.

Cheesing is part of the game as far as I'm concerned. I killed a dragon standing on a ledge and he couldn't hit me for some reason.

There are a few like that, there is a Knight near the ball rune farm that comes out at night and you can either "poison" him by running up the nearby hill or go near the bridge and he falls off :D

53 hours and still finding new things and the game is still surprising me. I feel like I’ve got so much to do but I am in no rush it’s a great place to explore. Level 75 and I’ve only done 3 main bosses. Struggling to find them without guides but it’s fine I’m having fun just riding around.
