Elden Ring

I must suck lol

I can't kill the boss for the katana and I'm lvl 70

what is the boss weak against

As above, sometimes I got aggro but it's easy enough to stay away from him. No idea how you beat most the bosses as a melee class though tbh.

I decided to re-explore euclid earlier as I pretty much used the horse most of the time when I was lower level (I have already beaten the red haired boss). I had missed so much today I beat about 4 dragons, the dark creature outside the beast root man, found 2 ruins, a secret cave and a small garrison I had missed.

I'm upto level 125 so I'm going to be way overlevelled by the end. I also somehow gained the blood skill sepuko when fighting a dragon in giant land (the dragon killed something which gave me it which was kind). The skill is amazing and goes perfectly with my faith/arcane hybrid build.

Some of the ashes of war are brilliant. I used the blood slash one for most of my playthrough. Seriously though experiment with them a bit Noxia, try to find one which gives bonus scaling to your build. For example I have 40 Faith and 40 arcane, so I tend to favour either lightening or bleed ashes which you can scale with those stats.

Game is too long :D I’ve been playing for what feels like forever, only got 3 main bosses down. Done loads of other bosses, caves and stuff.

when I sleep I hear the Elden ring music, my thoughts even when trying not to end up visualising the landscape of Elden rings.

still got large portions of the map to discover, got to nakron the other day thought this is a reasonable size map, then ended up flying up in coffins to find out it goes even deeper and then deeper again!

I’ve forgotten so much stuff, locked doors, too hard bosses, puzzles that I was meant to go back to but then you discover a mountain more of similar stuff and everything just becomes a blur.

I’m a serial explorer, just want to see what’s up that ladder or behind that cliff and end up on hours long side adventures.

I had to have a break a couple of days ago as was so enveloped in the world was starting to feel bleek and wary of the world in real life.

In short what a game, has gone way beyond my expectations. My only regret is getting the Sword and flame sword, it’s too OP (I discovered it naturally) but finding my mage build is just spamming it’s power against everything. Was fun at first but I think it makes the game too easy (the dread has gone). Personally I would advise not to even find it as is too hard to resist using it. Hopefully they patch it soon.

I've avoided reading anything on the game, probably to my detriment as I feel like I've missed out in a lot, loving the game though.

However I seem to go off and explore , unlocking the map and different areas, resulting in some confusion as to wtf I'm actually suppose to do next lol. I've got multiple quest lines open but I think not focusing on the story arc is hampering how they're playing out. I've got a hell of a long to-do list.

At present I've just arrived at Radahn, only beat 1 demi god so far, not sure if that's on par or behind what's expected. As for Radahn , it took me a few deaths to realise what I was supposed to be doing - Very cool fight though.

I have never used an ash of war, just doesn't seem to fit in to anything I do.

With ashes, it makes a difference depending on the enemy. I mainly only use them for bosses.

So as an example, earlier I came against royal knight Loretta. Got my ass handed to me multiple times. She seemed to be immune to any poison/rot and I couldn’t deal enough damage before she took me out.

But then I started looking at my armaments and noted I had a sacred blade ash of war. I thought what the hell, she seems like a ghost , so I’m gonna try it!

Cast lone wolves spirit ashes and waded in with my sacred charged sword. Had to do some dodging and a bit of healing but she was down inside of a minute.

I feel that there is a right way for most bosses that transcends dodge timings and learning their patterns - you just have to figure it out.

I used the wiki for info, over 200 hours played so far and still finding new things even after finishing the game twice.

I think the issue is I never 2h my weapon. Now I've said that I wonder if my spells hit harder with 2h... I like having shield up though and I usually fail trying to quick switch.

Took down Rennala first try, must be over levelled. No summon, just used an ash.

Radahn down too :)

Rennala is a piece of **** if she doesn't one shot you. First phase is a joke and she has very little health. Radahn was pretty easy as well but I was about level 55-60 at the time. Got me the mimic tear now and I feel like its just massively broken.

I didn't get touched in second phase used all my health flasks on first. I got the mimic too but not enough health.

I assume you are talking about Radahn.... :p

No, I didn't realise what I was supposed to be doing so I was cutting random things down for like ten minutes and kept getting hit by the fire etc.
Exploring Nokstella now, feel like I'm about to get destroyed.

Think he means you can only get the mimic tear ashes after beating Radahn?

Renallas second phase surprised me a bit because I am mostly magic until I realised you have to get in her face and slice away.

I’ve moved to the north map now. Beautiful place!

I'm confused lol. I have the ashes yes but doubt I'll use them as would have to boost health a fair bit.
