Elden Ring

I’m still to defeat mohg currently trying to do astel who is a real pain in the backside for me want to clean up a few of the bosses I didn’t defeat before doing the fire giant before going any further into the game. But been limited to 1 or 2 hours of game time is making it abit hard as I’m not the best at the game so most bosses takes me a few goes before I beat them.

Explored volcano manor today and got my hands on a magma blade (rare drop) tempted to try and get another and try a pyro build as I have a few larvar tears left to try new build not sure if it will be a good idea towards later stages of the game.

Mohg's shackle is a big help if you aren't using it already.

I beat Godskin Duo first time then got my ass kicked countless times by a Carion Knight. In the end I somehow cheesed him by trying to knock him off the edge with shield crash , which I failed to do, but somehow he managed to fall off anyways.

I'm now getting my ass kicked by another horse mounted knight further ahead.

That'll be the Draconic Tree Sentinel. He gave me a world of pain... If you do beat him he drops a very useful armour set :)

Ah yeah I remember him now from earlier in game . He carried no boss name this time but you're right.

I managed to beat him by two handing my great épée. Using stamina recovery talisman and physik then sprinting at him, stabbing him 5 times during his initial wind up animation. Stabbed him some more from behind then staggered him a little. Survived a few dodgy attacked and stabbed him some more. After a good hour of trying he went down in about twenty seconds lol.

He's just the appetiser for what follows straight after...

Just beat Maliketh or whatever he's called. That was quite tricky but the mimic tear helped me and managed to chill and beat the guy. First phase was simple but second was a pain in the arse.

Agreed, hands-down one of the best bosses of the game. The second phase is indeed intimidating, but not in the wrong way like Malenia - Malekith is ferocious but fair
As soon as malenia phase two opens I die in an instant. Never survived that yet

Managed to defeat astel to complete the story line and completed the fia storyline this morning. Hopefully get another hour or so later on and defeat mohg then move on to Maliketh I’ve managed to get to the boss fight, that draconic tree sentinel is a royal pain in the backside.

Sticking with my bleed build for the moment then thinking of switching it up and trying out a dragon cult incantation build as I have a few tears left to try some new builds out.

Re the Draconic tree sentinel - I just ran past and into the smoke gate. Once I’d beaten Maliketh there’s a site of grace in the boss room. I activated this and then used range attacks on the Sentinel afterwards.

He wouldn’t come into the boss room in my play through. So you could travel elsewhere and come back for him later.

Never thought of doing that to be honest, will give it a try when I next get on. No doubt I’ll keep dying to maliketh so will have to keep doing it over and over again to the point where I’ll get annoyed and go back to just trying to kill him beforehand.

if you do it this way (which I also recommend) make sure you keep running into the boss arena as the tree sentinel will hit you through the fog if you stand too close.

Yeah I’ve been hit before by enemies outside of gates before then my mimic tear tries to fight them and doesn’t help me with the boss . Is there a way to track what bosses you have killed in each area? Want to clean up as many as I can

Big tip with Maliketh is to run for cover before trying to summon Mimic.

Also, I never tried going toe to toe - always put one of the large circular columns between me and him and keep your guard up as he can swipe “through” the scenery sometimes.

I entered gate and immediately ran diagonally right to first column. You may have to roll past his first attack though. Once behind the column I summoned Mimic to aggro him and I kept darting in and using Moonveil.

On phase two I just carried on trying to put the column between us and landing hits when I could. Important not to get too greedy. Hit, move away, hit, move away etc. as he can hit like a train.

Managed to beat malenia on my 7th attempt, mohg the omen (still need to defeat mohg lord of blood finding him harder than malenia) I left maliketh for a while going to try and beat him today if I get chance to get on the PlayStation. Don’t think I’ll be doing a NG+ as much as I love the game i think I need to get through some of my other games and come back when the dlc is out.

EDIT - Just beat mohg using swarm of flies and blood flamberge

Beat maliketh, the boss before Godfrey and then Godfrey this morning tried so the dragon lord just get my behind handed to me lol. Just going to do the final boss now and call it a day with the game, it’s up there with one of the best games I’ve played.

I couldn't decide what to play after getting back from walking the dog yesterday, so turned to my old favourite and started my 8th playthrough of Elden Ring. I started as the duel scimitar warrior with the aim of creating a dex focused poison build.

I managed to farm a couple of falcions from the cave that leads to the first dragon communion island and bought a shortbow for a ranged option. I've levelled vigor to 20, dex to 20 and endurance to 12. I will probably pump endurance to 15 and then concentrate on getting arcane to 20 (poison and bleed scale with arcane and has the added bonus of better item discovery).

One possibility for the build could be to duel weild poison infused falcions but have a second pair infused with bleed to switch to at will.
