Elden Ring

Stumbled across the night a flame sword while exploring a manor (forgot the name, the one with the creepy ****** hand spiders) gave it a try after levelling up abit to get the required stats and prefer it to the pole blades.

Has anyone completed the game with this before? Not sure wether to run a shield/staff or hand seal.

I’m now up to level 206, and just under 100 hours played since killing the Elden Beast, been going around doing stuff I hadn’t done (still so many little dungeons I’d not found).

Also took on Malenia and although it was a hard battle managed to beat her

I’m seriously thinking about starting a NG+ too because since the red mist lifted it’s simply a brilliant game world.
I've enjoyed ER so much that as soon as I killed the final boss I was already thinking of what I'd do different on my NG+ run, the same with Bloodborne. Both brilliant games and ones I'm really looking forward to playing back through again, as you say with ER I thought I'd done a fairly good job of exploring and finding every little hidden dungeon etc only to find that I've missed quite a lot. My first play through's were done blind, the next will be with guides so I can make sure I find everything.

Yeah I am already considering what I’m gonna do on NG+ and planning accordingly with getting things I want before I start

Lvl 95 now currently trying to beat godskin apostle in caelid, mainly to try out the godslayer great sword someone mentioned at work, is it worth trying to get or just pass on this mofo for a while as it keeps beating my ass to a pulp

I was in the same position a couple of weeks ago, I skipped. I've just finished off Hoarah Loux, going back around then world now mopping up things I've missed (including apostle) and getting max flasks and refills so I'm In a better position for Radagon (who I've beaten already but then I get mopped up by Elden beast). Played the majority dual wielding moonveil/uchi but now cheesing it with blasphemous blade spam.

I'm hooked in again. Put loads of hours in this weekend. Found a perfect farm run at Dragonbarrow Fork where I can get about 20k runes in under two minutes which has helped me a lot.

Pretty much just two handing greatsword and 1 shotting them stoney militia dudes before they know what's happened.

Also discovered a bunch of new areas which have blown me away with their amazing art style. Stunning game.

After years of gaming this now takes top spot for me.

If you want a good rune farming area I found one near mohgwhyns palace, found it while doing varre quest, another one is those little black ninja guys in north caelid I can’t remember how much I got from them but it was easy if sneak up and backstab them.

This game just continues to amaze me I’m still doing ranni quest line and Norkron… the scenery…wow.

Any advice on rot? I’ve got to cross the lake for the next part of the quest I believe

Is that in the underground bit? I just tried to follow the pathways that are visible on the map, died a couple of times but other than that it seemed straight forward.

For the rot lake if you have faith there is an incantation which cures rot damage. There is a mushroom armour set which has high rot resist. You can also get the recipe for a rot cure with ingredients you can then farm. 2 talismans also increase your rot resist stats.

Nocked off Malenia, Mohg and Elden beast in a 1 hour session this afternoon. Outstanding game, possibly the most enjoyable game since wow on initial release. Roll on the expansion.

I had the incantation in my chest, flame heal me I believe it was called, managed to get across the lake and now stuck on Astel, got mimic tear summon to max now and respected my stats to go with a moonveil and staff build and dropped the flame and night sword, currently exploring the capital

I run the ps4 version for sweet rock steady 60fps - I might have to download the rt ps5 version
Same here, I just couldn't bear the uneven performance and ridiculous grass pop-in.

PS5 ver runs ok in certain areas but when it gets going during riding around... oh, boy. Not even VRR helps and it feels terrible.

Too bad PS4 ver has such weak foliage. Realistically, it should easily run at 60fps locked on PS5 with all the bells and whistles but From's "optimisation" is legendary at this point. Great game but the technical side of it is a mess.

Tried it today and nearly deleted all my saves (500hrs plus!!!). I did the ps4 conversion and wiped over all my ps5 saves. Luckily I have ps+ and dived into cloud saves and downloaded the ps5 er saves and my stress was ended.

Anyway I tried the RT mode and whilst it looked gorgeous, it was too framey for me. I turned it off after running through the opening upto Vaire.

The fire giant is stressing me out. Had him down to about 5% twice now then get rolled on. Annoying boss!
I managed to defeat him yesterday after about my 5th or 6th try. I managed to get him down to what looked like 1% health and as I went to hit him he rolled and killed me I nearly uninstalled the game at that point but went back and defeated him on the next try using moonveil and torrent to move out of the way of attacks.

There is also a npc you can summon to help you if you have followed the quest line but you lose the option to use torrent during the fight in doing so.

I realised all I needed to do was mix a decent physik and then I got him pretty quick after. I've killed mohg today and a bunch of random things.

What's hilarious is never once used a physik until that giant fight. Its a part of the game I never bothered to even learn. Mixing things. I've also not made one grenade type item nor have I ever used a finger for help from someone online lol.

I stubbornly just stuck with my sword and shield and a few crap summons I hadn't even learned to level up until recently either. I just max levelled a mimic and it basically made game easy mode.
