Always found wet shaving pain, but I've never been satisfied with electric razors, some of those newer expensive models look interesting but its a lot of money to gamble on! The Merkur looks great! I'm tempted to ask Santa!
Anyone considering the Braun series 9, just be aware it's been a complete nightmare getting a replacement 'head' cassette... they had a lot of manufacturing issues, and many places wanted £55+ for one.
Amazon have them on 'out of stock' for just under £40 but they're still hard to find.
Got the Braun 9 last November , its one of the better shavers but soon went back to my Panasonic ES-LV95.

Thank you for your loyalty to Braun. I’m sorry to hear that you are having a hard time finding a replacement cutter block and foil.
Replacement parts for the Series 9 are not available at this time, and we don’t know if or when they will become available.
I would suggest purchasing a Series 7 instead. I hope this helps.
The new 92B and 92S replacement parts should be available from 1st February 2017LOL at this reply which is meant to come from Brauns customer service department

It back to £99 right now on amazon...I couldn't say but at £120-£150 for 7 series is about as much as I want to spend anyway.
Why did you go back to the Panasonic?
It back to £99 right now on amazon...
That one isn't the wet and dry version, the one I linked to in Boots is the one I bought as it is the wet and dry version.
Here a link to the shaver, but it's back up to £299.

It says wet and dry on the picture of the shaver itself on the Amazon one? Zoom in on the main pic and look near the top right of the body
Do you have link to the model chart?
I think you're probably right as even Amazon have another slightly more expensive version described as wet and dry. They definitely seem to be confused over this model though as one pic has wet and dry, another doesn't, but then they show it being run under water.
