ELEX - Anyone interested ??

In Goliet at the moment, Is there any map that shows locations? I get so lost and have to resort to looking online.
Had to search for the above bug amulet and found two maps with game information on, not quiet just the locations though. In game there is nothing part from your own map, it only get updated with NPC's as you meet them and once you activate teleports.

Here is the two maps I found: ELEX Wolrd Map | Magalan Map and Elex World Map / Magalan, the last one is rather useful, if you looking for a specific item or NPC, then just click on the marker next to the item/NPC and it shows on the map. Someone has put in a lot of effort in making it !

Was the above the kinds of map you were looking for ??

@TheSwede, just checked and it's bugged. It is definitely an item as i can see it highlighted using sunglasses, but can't pick it up :(
Thank you for checking it out, much appreciated ! :D

I did serch on google and found two maps over Magalan, as posted above, the second one is very interactive and useful, on that one it says to be a Mechanic's Amulet, so someone has in the past been able to pick it up. Guess I will make an account over at the official forums and post there about it and see if they fix it in an update.

Edit: Well I was going to but got this message: **reCAPTCHA could not be verified due to server issues. Please try again later.** So I guess I have to wait and do it on a later time.

Yeah, I remember a few items I just couldn't find a way to pick up in the game as well.

It's really pretty rough around the edges, but I'm a big PB fan and this also had all of the positives that make their games so absorbing, so it would be unrealistic to expect that they'd somwohow found a way of knocking off their rough edges after nearly 20 years... :)

How far through the game are you now, Swede?

I don't mind it, just enjoying running around and exploring it all. If I used the teleports bit more I probably be further then I am but there always another rute to where you going that you not traveled so taking that. :o

Sure, would been nice to been able to pick that amulet up, after doing a search would given me some extra stats in charisma and crafting skill, not sure how much though. But since there is some charisma speech checks would been nice to have it around, but it is not a game breaker ! :p

Level 21, soon to levely up. Grabbed some screeneies as to where in the main quest line I am, which isn't far. :p

Upgraded some weapons a while ago, didn't realize how expensive it was until later when I saw I "only" had a bit more then 7k on me, had 18k last time I checked so was like , what happened with my coins ! Then I figured out what it was and was like.. uhmm ok.. opsi.. lol

I got loads of stuff though, like leather, pelts etc, but no clue if needing any for recipes later on or not. Any suggestions as to what is safe to sell ? :p

Yeah, you definitely want to plan your upgrading. If you're going guns, you probably only need an upgraded Type A flamethrower and a laser rifle. The Redeemer is the best plasma rifle, and it's free, and you shouldn't need much else.

Upgrading my flamethrower completely cleaned me out of elexit, and it was hours before I saved enough to upgrade a laser rifle as well.

I didn't end up using any leather or pelts. I think they might be for berserker gear. I used some teeth and claws I think for a crafted ring, but otherwise I didn't need anything. If in doubt, you could always just leave yourself with 40 or 50 of each item and sell the rest. I made most of my money through selling trophies and valuables, and I don't think there was ever anything I wish I'd kept.

Yeah I realized that. I upgraded the laser from I to III and plasma from I to II, then also my bow and Shotgun as well. Probably overkill but forgot that it cost coins as well to upgrade it all. :p

Thanks, that be useful for later on. It's not like I needing it right now, I found like 3k since I done the upgrades (and through quests), so it's not like I am running low on coins. Plus, found a 2 handed weapon a while ago, not using 2 handed and even if I did, not sure if I ever get to 92 Constitution ! So I be selling that for a nice profit, like 4,6k ! :p

I posted some tips in the first post, but put them in spoilers incase people don't want to know about them. If anyone has more to add, fell free to post and I can add them as well. (If to many find it to much of spoiling things I can remove them.)

Some tips I can remember from my playthrough:

If you stand outside the Domed City and look north, you'll see a broken wind turbine. If you jetpack up the platforms to the very top, you can find some sunglasses that highlight items in the world.. IMO, these are far more useful than the ones that highlight enemies.

On top of the North Abessa converter you can find The Redeemer. This is the best plasma rifle in the game (requires 65 int and dex). It's so OP it actually feels a bit broken. You can stunlock almost anything with the splash damage setting (but note that on this rifle at present the ammo icons are bugged, so the EMP blast is actually the splash damage setting, and vice versa)

The ending is dependent on your cold level. You need <20 cold for the "good" ending, 20-60 (I think) for the "fairly good" ending, and higher will lock you into the "bad" ending. But there are so many emotional dialogue options you should have no trouble staying emotional even if you chug down elex drinks. Remember that "cold" does not equal "evil", though - it means logical and unemotional. Some "emotional" choices are ostensibly quite "evil" (such as threatening someone or expressing an angry reaction in general).

If you care about the Domed City not being destroyed by the albs, make sure to side with the clerics and beserkers. If you side with the outlaws and separatists in the weapon and forcefield quests (possibly a few others too) the albs will destory the city.

Got a bit of a surprise earlier, my first weapon drop from a killed enemy !

I have seen one weapon I can pick pocket from a guard, but this was the first drop. Is there other nice surprises like this to be found ? :p

This is from the guard outside of Doc's place at the Fort.

And this is the drop from a Reaver Leader I think it was.

Finally got to Act 2 but doing a lot of running around before that. Also, solved the Map and know the truth about one of the factions.

Having a bad boy vibe :P

At first look it was like a reference to Dead Poets Society. But once reading the notes, was more referring to a board game of some sort. :p

They sure know how to set up a scene. :P

Finding what looks like a treasure dig, and it is all empty. :(

I nearly gave up on this game as it is so clunky etc. Glad I persevered though as it is a pretty enjoyable game especially now I am a bit stronger and have better weapons. Just about to hit Level 19 and I haven't joined a faction yet :o Thinking about joining the Berserkers as the Outlaws are mostly obnoxious so far, and I don't fancy joining a cult so that rules out the Clerics.

Can agree the combat is a bit clunky yes. I was running around and exploring everything and didn't end up joining a faction until level 30. Upgraded warbow and later Laser/Plasma (which can be bought and the best one found, can be used by any faction as well, as long as your stat is high enough for them) and you can get away with meeting any mobs no matter if they are to high level or not, just got to be moving around and avoiding their ranged attacks. :p Once you get your factions higer tier armour though, it get even more fun since you can take bit more damage and wont have to keep dodging all the time. :p

Glad to hear you finding it more enjoyable now. The game is a rough gem I think, many disliking the hard start but once you past that the game world is just amazing ! :D

I enjoyed Elex more than AC Andromeda and Horizon Zero Dawn (eventhough I did enjoy both those too).

Just wanted to say that. It is a bit clunky perhaps, but it's still great.

I've been on the fence about buying this after reading/watching countless reviews - but this thread just convinced me. I'm going innnnnnn!

Have fun ! Just be aware that at the beginning you WILL be running away from most fights until you gained a couple levels. Just throwing it out so you aware of it, if you can get past that part you be fine later. It's a great game and I had loads of fun when I played it. :D

I finally finished this game. Wow, what a brilliant experience it was. The combat is jokishly bad but for some reason I couldn't get enough of it. I ended up joining the Clerics and using a Plamsa Rifle which was super fun and pretty overpowered by the end.

I thought the final boss was a bit rubbish though to be honest - and a huge spike in difficulty. All in all though, well worth the £20 I paid for it.

If you liked this EuroRPG, there are another two ahead of you: Kingdom Come and Vampyr
