So is it worth fixing now?

Never mind, looks like the variable will still be cheapest given we know it's going to be a 54% at most increase.

As always. Depends on the fix, your appetite for risk and what you think future holds.

Just checked slack at work and currently no official unit prices for SVT just the 54% bump and no new products at the moment but they are hastily assessing the position of current price offers and future ones and will update asap.

If anyone is with EON Next and on the SVT, be advised the best deal at the moment other than the SVT is the Next online v9 i believe and thats not actively being sold as its a loss making product that im expecting to get pulled any day now especially after todays announcements.

For example, and im an electricity only property but use this as some guidance

Currently im on (until sept 22)
23.19 Day
11.96 Night
17p SC

Current SVT
24.77 Day
13.60 Night
28.41 SC

Next Online V9 (cheapest 1 yr tarrif for me if i wasnt fixed already and not on SVT)
28.00 Day
16.77 Night
40.04 SC

New SVT (applying 54% increase for my property)
38.14 Day
20.94 Night
43.75 SC

i can only see Fix 1 Year v9
my fix ends tommorrow (Fix Online Exclusive v58)
is next online cheaper than the svt?

I owe you a beer!

I got moved over to E-On when my previous supplier went bust.

Logged into my account and there it was, so I immediately switch to it for the next 12 months.

Current SVT
24.77 Day
13.60 Night
28.41 SC

What I would be paying following today's announcement:
38.14 Day
26.98 Night
41.79 SC

What I'll be paying now:
28.00 Day
16.77 Night
40.04 SC

My property is electricity only supply with an air source heat pump for my heating and water heating needs so this will save me in the short term. My bill this month is £146 and on the new cap, would be £236! Switching today means it would be £171.

No idea what the situation will be like when the fixed rate ends in February 2023 though :o

Just checked online and v9 is expensive and variable.

V17 2 year fixed was merely a portent of things coming very soon, bend over chaps the rich are about to get considerably richer.

All quotes are expensive and i imagine will getmore expensive shortly. Next online v9 is a fixed 12 month product, its not variable

Ah didn't appreciate that, might be worth it then.

But you've got to have smart meter don't you?

I'm an EonNext customer having inherited it when I moved last November. Trying to get into my online account to see if I can change from SVT to the Online V9 and none of the password reset emails are coming through. damn it.

What a year this will be - Energy price increases, NI increases, interest rate up. Gees.
