Ah didn't appreciate that, might be worth it then.

But you've got to have smart meter don't you?

Well I've gone for the v9, should save a bit over the year anyway.

TBH the online v9 is prob the best atm for EonNext and im not expecting it to be around much longer. Technically yes you have to agree to smart meter otherwise the pricing can be voided but we arent enforcing/havent enforced it and i cant see it being enforced for quite a while

Ah ok thanks for that

I've not got a smart meter and there was no mention of one when i when for the online v9 earlier, and was only given the one rate in my email? Bloody hope they dont go and void the price on me. I would've agreed to a smart meter if it asked/insisted.

Just to make something clear here re all the EonNext info i've gone through this morning. These are my personal thoughts and opinions based on the information i have and not as someone who represents the company. I am making suggestions and putting the info out there but i am not advising any individual to make their decision on my sole word. All decisions are your own based on the information you have.

Sidenote: This is basically word for word from the slack msg this morning

The cap doesnt cover the pricing of our contract tarrifs
Now we've had thee new cap information from ofgem, we will asses what this means to the price of our next flex tarrif portfolio from 1st April 2022 and keep you in the loop.

For customers calling us, we currently offer Next Online V9 (£1750), which offers a saving of £221 vs the new cap limit. It offers 12 months fixed ressurance through a period where wholesales costs are still volatile.

Please can i ask that you dont sell this to new customers as this will mean a large loss to the business.

Obviously with the increases on SVT today my personal opinion is the online V9 will be gone soon as they update the contract offerings since its lower than the SVT

It is in the T & C however as i mentioned before, nothing has been enforced to install a smart meter and im not expecting any plans to do so for the next 12-18 months minimum. Also smart techs and even smart back office staff are so busy and swamped with work at the moment there just isnt the time nor will to even think about trying to enforce it so i 100% wouldnt worry.

Yeah thanks for this, I just did some basic scaling based on the 54% and I should save some money, whether its a little we will see.
Of course there is no exit fee so if things don't work out I just go back to the sv rate.

I have to say first time I've spoken to EON NEXT on phone they were very helpful answered pretty quick and I didn't even have to mention any tariffs I just asked what was available

Go leave a trustpilot review

The Trustpilot rating directly effects the bonus of everyone in the business as its a KPI used in our bonus calculation lol.... So y'know do a brother a solid and 5 star yeah?

This has wound me up (from the BBC live updates)

""Colletta Smith

Consumer affairs correspondent

That will not have to be repaid.

That's just free money from the government via your council.

And that's in 80% of council tax bands - all but the dead posh houses will get that."

**** right off. My house is almost certainly not "dead posh" in anyway shape or form.

Do you have to be an Eon customer already to get the V9 tariff?

Short answer Yes, Long answer maybe. Sales staff have been advised not to sell the Next online V9 to new Eon Next customers and its available for existing ones but it might be worth a punt to see what you can get

Assuming it will be a case of phoning and asking for it then?

Possibly as i dont think ti would give you the option for the online V9 if you try to switch online but i honestly dont know. If you cant do it yourself, ring in the morning and try your luck and be super charming to whoever you speak to lol

I beleive the online v9 is the best on offer at the moment and im not expecting that to be around much longer given todays announcements.

@Buckster got the below on his Eon Next V9 online which isnt too different from what @Beans on toast Dave got from his Eon Energy Fix 1 V9 quote

Elect 26.98/KW standing 40.2
Gas 5.53/KW standing 42.31

Doesn't present it online for me, only the more expensive 2 year fixed.
