***** Enermax Celebration - Big Giveaway ***** WINNERS ANNOUNCED POST 198!

It would be nice if these sort of competitions could go to the genuine needy people...but good luck with that :D

For a start no needy people need 1200W PSU's so you should keep to the more sensible versions etc..

Also if the company sponsoring it does not want anything back (advertising line etc) just pull the winners from a hat !, You know with this sort of thing you will never please everyone regardless how you implement it anyway.

If you stipulate prizes are to help people and not to be sold, I personally think that would be sensible.

Finally what Shyper did was not wrong it was a competition and he won, the problem was for no fault of his there was no ground rules, sure most of us would not have, but that's just each to his own morals I suppose.

He lied in his reasons for needing the Power Supply, a few people actually did just put that they wanted to sell it on for profit. The idea of the competition was that the one with the best reason for needing it would win. He then just went and sold it.

I took it to be the regular complete the sentence..... type comp, fact fiction funny or sad if someone had put, "because I reckon I could sell it for £150 which would pay for the repair on my poor old grannies pc" true or not it's a legitimate entry.

You see the problem if there are no rules ?

Received mine yesterday- next day delivery, haribos and all :) Many thanks OCUK!!!

Update
Hmm, it's actually a better PSU: not Triathlor, but Revo 87+ ... Has there been a mix up, should I return it, what did the winner of the Revo 87+ get?

There is no problem, its not some state benefit scheme ;) You win some utility, its up to you how you convert it into happiness - use it, sell it, gift it, break it...
EDIT: Oh I see, he *promised* something in his entry- ok that is slightly morally different.

Interesting, I'll have to look at the one i won when i get home, i was meant to get the Revo 87+ so I'll make sure i got the right one :p

Not even taken it out of the box to check yet lol!

Really impressed with these fans. Love the switch to turn the leds off, will be perfect for when leaving my pc on at night. They seem very good quality and you get a lot of features for the price. The bearing I'm not 100% sure about yet, never heard of a twister bearing before. I usually go for the more expensive fluid bearings, but will see overtime how this one lasts. Temps are good, but it's running at 500rpm as my pc is set to silent mode. I'll have to give it a proper test to see how they compare to the Noiseblockers and Akasa Apache.

I get peoples disappointment in the sale of the PSU but there isn't anything can do about it. It isn't quite to the same degree but it comes down to the difference between morality and legality. It is strange that he put the reason as that but wasn't his actual plan but he won therefore the psu is for him to do what he pleases.

I didn't expect to win but now I did, I am running the fans for a bit, trying to decide on whether to change the other fans in my system to enermax fans or keep the vipers. If I decide to keep the vipers then most likely will be selling the enermax fans. I suppose the difference though is that I am, at least partly, thinking about keeping them and I never said I needed them lol.

We chose his entry because we wanted to see a customer win an epic supply and post up his findings and also his potentially epic setup.

This would have attracted people to the brand and grown interest in Enermax, which was the whole point of this exercise.

As Lee has mentioned, there is nothing we can do about it.

That's perfectly reasonable but maybe mentioning it next time might help :D

was asking people to post what they would do with the gear as the key point of the competition not enough?

:D You know, I don't see that there either !

"To be in with a chance of winning these, please complete the following sentence

'I would like to win the (enter what you want to win) because ....................................'

The best entries will be chosen, you are free to post a serious answer, a funny answer, it doesn't matter. But we will choose the winners based on the statements we like the most.

Only one entry per forum member. Any following entries will be discarded.

CLOSING DATE IS NOON TUESDAY 4TH DECEMBER 2012"

Anyway, that's me !, you will all be sorted for the next competition ;)

I really wish I had more time, I would love to totally unbiased review a few products, maybe one day ;)

If you wanted a review etc. done in order to make more people aware of the brand etc. then why didn't you choose me for the other PSU!?!?! :p :(

Is this further evidence that you did just use a random number generator to pick the winners :p

As I said in my entry, I would have had a full in depth review written up within a week that would have been posted here, neowin etc. and not only just on the forum of neowin but it would have been featured on the front page and tweeted by people with hundreds/thousands of followers including tech sites, like some of my other reviews ;) (the total views combined from each site would have been well over a thousand) And you can be sure that I would have kept my word! :p

this was never stated explicitly. you know that manufacturers give us promotional items to promote their brand. so someone saying they planned on using the prize in an interesting manner is fair enough.

not everyone could be a winner, and sadly not everyone we chose decided to enter in the spirit of the competition.

there were multiple winners across different categories. no random number generator was used. there are plenty more competitions coming up so keep entering :)

Would be nice if a requirement of winning the prize is that you review the product, not only would it be useful for other members it would dissuade anyone from entering disingenuously.

+1 to that!

And have it stated in the T&C that if the review isn't done within a certain time period I.e. 1 month, then they will be punished, such as have their free shipping or/and members market access removed as well as being suspended until the review is written up and emailed to a Don or the product is returned and given to another person who entered the competition.
